I'm surprised it didn't, especially at that wattage. Did it even have an effects loop? You can use those like a line out. I've done it before.
Yeah. Oddly and happily enough, I found that to be true on the Forum elsewhere yesterday, and it referred to the Mustang (IV in my case). No manual reference was given. Sticking a dummy plug into the effects return will kill the speaker at least in this scenario, can’t say if this is across the board for all amps. But, my guess is that it is :?: I’m also goofball guessing a clean or other return (out) signal could be input from the board (or other) back to the effects return input or would there even be an application here?

I've done that with my Rumble 350 combo for late night recording on headphones, and I wanted to mute the speaker. I just stuck a patch cable in there, and it does work.

Yeah, that can be an expensive smell, too. Not quite like the ones they bottle up and sell at Macy's, though. :P

Not Bass or Guitar . . . (sorry to get too off topic)

But more like amp. I have a VOX AC15 which is loud for my small quarters . . . . However, I have a solid state (made in China) 10 watt Marshall amp . . . which I bought for $35 at a pawn shop . . . And let me tell you!

I keep gravitating to that little Marshall. To me, it emulates a tube sound . . . and I get just the right tone and sound from that amp. It truly is a charm to work with. Not rocket science to get the right tone either.

Don't get me wrong , I love plugging my Tele in the VOX . . . totally love the single coil sound through that amp. But at times, I get direct results with the 10 watt solid state Marshall. Once I start gigging, the VOX will be more prevelant.

The Who started out with everyone going through two Vox AC15 amps, if you can imagine that. You have the one that has the single 12", or the 2 x 12" configuration?

I've had the Rumble 100 for a few weeks now, and I think it was a really good move to go back to that particular amp. It definitely works out fine with the Epi EB-0 being played through it.

It does seem to work well for your purposes. 8) I've gone away from using the Fender Rumble 350 combo, to now using the Ampeg PF-800 and Fender Rumble 4 x 10" cab, since the Rumble 350 is now a drum amp. I'm actually glad because I'm actually finally using the Ampeg. To be honest, before we started jamming together with bass and drums, it was just sitting there collecting dust. I might have used it maybe once or twice since I first bought it, and have yet to do any gigs with it. I don't know what's going on with that situation, but at least I'm jamming with a real drummer. That certainly doesn't hurt my playing abilities any.

The only thing I wish I had now was a little practice amp to hook up in the living room, so I can actually plug in when I'm playing while I watch films. The Ampeg is kind of too big to park by the TV set, where I'd have to situate it, and a slight pain in the arse to have to wheel it in there, and move it back when we jam. I'm not touching the Rumble 350, because it's dialed in for the Roland drums, and I don't want to mess with any EQ settings.

The 100 is Right On for my stuff. Smaller amps do have their place, and do well with portability for pick up, and go.

It's a good sized amp for your purposes, I think. It's big enough for your room, but it's not some huge rig that would be hard to have to move around, that you couldn't really crank up too much, anyway. It's also a bonus that it responds really nicely with your bass, too. 8)

You know, I do have an amp I might use for the living room. I do have that 1982 Fender Super Champ amp that's been sitting around. I know it's a guitar amp, but it does have a 150 watt PA speaker in it, which came factory installed as some upgrade. I've played bass through it before, and it can handle it, and I wouldn't have it that loud, anyway. It's actually a pretty loud amp for guitar. I'm not going to get the best low end out of it, but it's something to use.

I'm set for my 11' X 13' room. The monsters I previously had in here didn't sound as loud as they were in here, with the volume of the room being so small. And it's hard to tell the true volume being heard in here. The 100 is very well suited for smaller volume rooms.

If you play it easy through the 1982 Fender Super Champ amp with the upgraded speaker, very workable. Thats a great amp by the way.

Yeah, I suppose you couldn't really use an all tube 300 watt head to it's full potential in a room like that. Some tube amps do have an option to where you can cut the output power down, so you can crank it up still. Of course, your cabs also factor in with that, as well. I imagine an 8 x 10" cab would move a lot more air than a single 15" cab, or whatever, but that's also at least twice the size.

It is a great guitar amp. It's actually pretty loud to where I couldn't really crank it up to any overdrive with the Tele in it, or whatever guitar I used, at least in that small room. It's 18 watts all tube, and the speaker is 150 watts, so it also has a lot of headroom, so I'm not running that speaker hard, either. It does have an overdrive channel, which you pull the volume knob out to switch it on to give you more dirt. I think it's the volume knob, unless there's a gain knob on there. I haven't looked at it in a very long time, so I don't remember on top of my head. Usually, I'll just hook up a distortion pedal for that, anyway.

I've got into my brain finally, that any amp over the size of the Rumble 100, of a similar amp, is a waste for what I use anymore.

You have the 6 stringer side of town covered with the Fender Super Champ amp. I bet the Tele sounds fantastic played through it too.

That's probably true, since you were most likely running those bigger amps at a lower volume, anyway. If you're not jamming with a full band, and/or a heavy hitting drummer, or doing gigs, then there's probably no point in having that type of rig. I'll probably always have at least a half stack like I have now, though, even though I probably could get away with something smaller, but just in case, you know. I never know what can happen, or pop up down the road. Besides, it's really not that much more bigger than a lot of combos, maybe slightly taller than the Rumble 350. That's of course I'd keep using a 4 x 10" cab, which I probably will. It does match up well with the power rating of the Ampeg, and does move some air, if need be.

Yeah, it's a great amp, although we don't intend to gig with it, because of it's potential value, and it's in mint condition, if I had to play guitar live, which is hard to say at this point I would or not. I've seen that particular amp in half the condition it's in go for $1000, so we don't want to tear it up. It was also designed by Paul Rivera, when he worked for Fender before CBS sold the company, and he went on to make Rivera amps. I suppose maybe a modern equivalent to this amp might be one of his, I don't know. They aren't exactly cheap, though. They usually cost over a grand, depending on the model.
