Yeah, I do remember that now. They probably have those old commercials on YouTube.

They probably do. Michale Landon wasn't a lightweight actor back then. I think he was starring on "Little House On The Prairie" about that time.

I used to like watching the old TV commercials.

I'm thinking about plugging in the Peavey Zodiac bass, when I'll jam through the Ampeg later. I've never done that, and I'm curious to see how it sounds. I know it does need some work done to it, especially with some sort of ground hum it has. Also, it could use a new sets of strings, preferably flats.

That sounds like a good plan. It may surprise you. Image

Well, I nixed that idea, after I picked it up for a minute. I guess I wasn't really feeling that bass, so I just went on the Ibanez short scale. Maybe next time, I might mess with it. I think I might need to mess with the action on it a bit, though.

You seem to do well with your Ibanez. I almost did one for myself, but I didn't want the active bass. It worked out ok with my EB-0 style Epi. A simple thing, for a simple mind! Image

Which Ibanez were you looking at?

The only one from that series that doesn't have active electronics is the one I have, and it's the only one that's a short scale, too. I think Ibanez only makes a couple different models that have passive electronics in them. Most of them are active. I think their hollow body, and semi hollow body basses are passive, though. Usually, that type of bass is.

That sounds right from what I recall.

I do like the feel of the necks on them, active or not. They're pretty quick, too.

Somewhat like the necks on the Schecter's.

Yeah, I used to have one, a Jazz copy, if you remember. That was actually a good bass, I forget why I decided to get rid of it. It still exists in pics, I suppose, with probably one still on this site, buried in the depths of the threads posted here. Maybe not, since they changed the site around, and I had to start using Imgur, so it probably won't show anymore.

Didn't that one have a grounding, or heavy static in the pots? And didn't stay in tune?
