I don't know. I guess because all of the Class D stuff started coming out, or maybe the sales figures weren't big enough for them, which is probably the main thing, since they are a corporation. I also liked the Bassman models that were out right before those, especially the Bassman 400 model, even though the next series went to 500 watts. I remember when I lived in Brandon, Florida, there was a local shop that had on in stock that I used to mess around with. Funny, that's kind of like what happened with the Rumbles. The one I have is listed as 350 watts, like that was, and the current generation goes to 500 watts with an extra cab.

True, Fender is a corporation. All dollars, and no sense.

If anything, I'm annoyed they waited too long to put out their Rumble 800 head. :P AMS did have one for sale a week ago at a discount, like I got my Ampeg, but you know how that goes. It's gone now, and even if it weren't, it would probably be a huge pain in the arse to even try to sell the Ampeg, and all of that. Although, I'm sure it would move a lot faster than the Orange did. I'm not going to bother, though. The Ampeg seems to be doing good, and it does sound good, as well. Still, the Fender does have some bonuses to it.

The main feature the Rumble 800HD has, is the 2 ohm ability.

That is a big bonus, especially if you have to deal with having both 8 and 4 ohm cabs, or you could run four 8 ohm cabs, if you feel so inclined, and have the ways and means to do so. That certainly would have saved me some money, if I had that option back when I first got the Carvin 18" cab, and the Orange head, not that it matters now. Another thing, is I do like the tones you get out of Fender amps. If it sounds anything like the Rumble 350 combo, then it would do quite nicely. Other than that, it's not worth the hassle of trying to sell the Ampeg over, I'd think. I mean if someone wanted to trade one for some bizarre reason, then I'd do that, though.

I did like the Rumble 800HD. I do believe it's one of the best Fender heads that gives a Bassman 800 a good run. About $400. less in price, is a fine place to start.

Yeah, it certainly would be the top contender, if I ever had to replace the Ampeg, which I hope won't happen, because of something happening to it. The fact that they also jacked the price of the Ampeg up $100 also contributes to that.

It's a popular time to have price increases on amps.

Yeah, the thing with that, is there's a lot of competition there within the same price ranges, and might offer more, as well.

That's true. Or, if they decide to have a sale, the sale price could be set at the old regular price, or just above the old regular price. Oh boy, what a deal! Image

Oh yeah, that's an old retail trick, there. Kind of like saying something costs under $100, but it costs $99.99. :P

Kodak cameras did that bit on their TV commercials too, with Michale Landon. Especially at Christmas time. "Open me first.", from the commercial.

You know, I vaguely remember that. Was that from the late 70's?

Somewhere around there, and up until he passed away, Kodak ran him on the commercials. Pre-digital.

Yeah, I do remember that now. They probably have those old commercials on YouTube.
