Yeah, but I never took advantage of it.

I suppose you still pretty good with what you did do, though.

I don't have regrets if that's what you mean. My father knew I thrived on the live workings of making a show work. Or at least my part of it. There was an adrenaline rush when things were in place, watching from backstage in the dark, before the stage lights turn night into day, and the first notes were struck. SHOWTIME!!!

Yeah, it's certainly a different world than the recording studio. I can see why you also felt like that.

At the time, I didn't appreciate what it took for him to get the recorded studio music down, and set. My work entertained hundreds, or thousands at a time, whereas his entertained millions at any time. Oh well.

Yeah, but you were just as important with what you did. You kept everything running, and made sure everything was set up properly. That does matter if you want to have a good performance, besides the actual playing of the songs, I think.

Very well put, Glenn. Exhilarating at the start, hopeful relief when it ends, and satisfaction that lingers. Back to the drawing board on a rare occasion if it doesn’t; usually from an unexpected screw in the works. That's show business. Ain’t nothing like it. :D
The teamwork, sharing, and comradeship across the board makes or breaks success adding good vibes before, during, and after. It’s as much about who you are and who they are as what it is and what it isn’t. Learn from the best, share with the rest. That’ll take you on a great journey.

I may not know much, but one thing I do know, as others here do, is that if you spend enough time in show business you get to become a good judge of character, especially with all the characters you’ll run across . . . and, whoo boy! There are some doozies.

Yeah,.... The live show doesn't happen by its self, that's for sure. I thought our crew was the best in the business, and I let them know it too! Image

What ever became of them? Did you ever keep in touch at all?

No, I actually out lived them all. A bit depressing, but I'm getting more a custom to people I know meeting their fate. Time catches up with us all. Image

Wow, sorry to hear that. I know what you mean, though. Unfortunately, sometimes people will accelerate that time catching up with them, as well. I've lost a friend because of that, but he could be his own worst enemy, sometimes.
