That's true. Then again, for all I know, I might just wind up playing guitar through the bass amp. :P

I wasn't really kidding about that. Some bass amps were accepted more as a 6 stringer amp than for bass. You'd have enough power, and you sure wouldn't hurt it.

That's true. The main thing is how I have the bass amp EQ dialed in might not gel with the Tele going through it, and I'd have to tweak stuff, which wouldn't be ideal in a live situation. You don't want to mess with too much crap, because it takes time, and things might already be setup with the PA.

Hendrix had his Marshalls set to basically almost bass heads. True, he was using tube heads, but the transformers were almost bass amp sets.

That's true, since the Marshall was based on a Fender Bassman. The problem I would have is EQ settings from switching guitar to bass and having to adjust that. If I had two channels, that would be a different situation.

Hendrix wanted the Marshalls to be reworked for the bass tones, because he didn't like the higher pitched frequencies other were getting from their Marshalls. He referred to it as a squeaky sound. Hendrix's feedback was a lower frequency tone.

Did he use those bass models, like a then? I though those were set up for lower frequencies to some degree.

No, they were the standard Marshall heads, but were reset to his specs to give them better low frequency tones. The power tubes stayed the same, but the Transformers, and Rectifiers were changed out to lower them, and to keep up the power. Hendrix's feedback was great, and I believe by doing the alterations to the heads, that gave him greater control of the feedback when he wanted it, as he wanted it.

He also used Sunn 100S amps with 2 x 15" cabs, as well. https://equipboard.com/pros/jimi-hendrix/sunn-100s

At one time or another, it seemed like almost everyone used a Sunn. Felix was one of the few, that was pretty much locked in on the Sunns with out changing out for other amps. Steve Knight in Mountain, did use Marshall 200's for the keyboards.

I remember Jon Lord used Marshalls for his keyboards, as well. You like Deep Purple at all?

Yeah, he was. This might not be to popular opinion, but the Mark 3 lineup was my favorite. Maybe because I like Glenn Hughes on bass. That's cool that you were back stage with them. Were you working for them at the time?

No, I wasn't. I was invited backstage from a mutual friend. That was considered an honor at that time, to be invited backstage.

That's pretty cool. That was the Mark 2 lineup that did "Machine Head?"

No, that was the first Deep Purple Concert I was at in 1971. The second I was at, was the Machine Head in 1972.
