Thanks guys. Being lighter sure can't hurt. Oh well. Life goes on.

Yesterday, I was going back between three of the basses that we have, with the Ibanez Talman, Peavey Zodiac, and Douglas violin bass, and the Ibanez is definitely the winner for overall everything, if I had to pick one of those. I suppose if I got some flats for the Peavey, and set it up more, it would be a lot better. That, and I'm just use to playing short scale basses, now.

That's always a good decision to start with, the choice between short scale, or long scale. Once again, you and I have taken the opposite scale length to dig in with. And it is what's more comfortable to play between the two. The Ibanez Talman, is a darn good choice to go with. I was close to going with the long scale Ibanez Talman, before the Epi EB-3 yelled my name.

Did you get to play on the Ibanez? I've only played on the short scale version, so I don't know how that one is, other than it's probably the same neck dimensions, other than the scale size. We do have a long scale Ibanez with the CT Series, but the neck on that one is actually slightly thinner feeling than the Talman.

I had one lined up to play. But as it worked out, it wasn't necessary.

I think you made out very well with that bass, anyhow. I guess time will tell on what I'll do as far as short and long scale basses go. There are pros and cons to both, that's for sure.

Yep, the EB-3 is doing fine. It's good that you have the option between the two scales. It can be frustrating at times, when a bass a player likes a bass that's only available in the scale they may not prefer. Image

Options are a nice thing to have, because you never know where you might want to go with either of them.

Especially since you're playing live at times.

True, but I've only ever brought one bass with me to gigs. It's probably risky doing that, but I've never had an issue, so far. Now watch that I've said that, the next show I ever do my bass will crap out on me. :P

Well, it looks like I'll be going back to my Squier Telecaster here and there. I'm going to be playing guitar on some track when we play live, besides bass, so I should pay more attention to that. I really don't even have a guitar amp, other than we do have a 1982 Fender Super Champ that's been stored away. I'm not sure if we want to use that for live use, or not, since it's in mint condition and never gigged. I've seen some of those worth $1000, and in half the condition. I don't know, it's a great amp, but should I risk it getting potentially banged up from gigging? I do baby my gear, but you know how it goes on the road.
