I'll bet the case I have might even fit that Mustang, although it might not, because I think the headstock is longer, than the Ibanez, or the violin bass. You got four in a row, and the Ibanez has these weirdly spaced two and two setup. I'd have to look at it again, to see what the space left would be.

The Violin Bass head stock is fairly long. Here's the Mustang head stock. I was surprised that the Fender fit into the interior design of the Gator case.

It might fit in that case, now that I see that. I guess Jazzmasters must be pretty long guitars, if the case has to be bigger, I don't know. I'm just glad it fit the violin bass, because that case is a real pain to find, and typically pretty expensive. It certainly cost more that I paid for the bass, itself.

Amazing at the prices of cases. Well, they never have been reasonable in price either.

Yeah, it's kind of funny, if you can swing dropping a lot of cash on a bass, but then you'd balk at spending a lot on case, or strings for that matter. :P I suppose it's because cases aren't pretty, and serve only the purpose to carry your instrument in, and nothing else. I suppose it's not always the best idea to cheap out too much strings, or cables for that matter, since they are actually important to your overall sound.

That's an interesting choice. Have you played those before?

I had two back in mid to late 2014.

Oh, OK. I knew you back then, but for some reason I don't remember those. Maybe you had them when I was between posting on this forum or the other one we used to use with that one dude that pissed us both off.

Yeah,.......... it's a good thing we were online, and not face to face with them back then. Image

It was like I said, back in 2014 when I had the Sterling, and the MM. To the best of my knowledge, the Ray24CA can be played Active, with battery in, or Passive, with the battery out. There isn't an option switch.

Active pickups can be advantageous in certain situations. Really, the only negative is you have to be mindful of the batteries, and have spares if you're gigging, and some older amps don't play to well with the hotter output of the pickups. They definitely can punch their way through a mix, or whatever. I imagine that even more so with that HyDrive speaker.

The Sting Ray Series do have a nice punch for sure with the EQ. The Ray24CA has a two stage EQ. And like I think, passive can be played without the battery installed. Either one is fine for my playing. I like the MM bridge being Stainless Steel.

I did play one in what is now Sam Ash in Clearwater, back in the 90's, and I remember the neck on it being pretty smooth, and pretty quick.
