Good that you were able to get it back. Did you leave those strings on there, or did you have to change them out again? I've only changed the strings on my violin bass once, and it was a pain in the arse to do so, because of how that bridge is.

I left the Nylons on, mainly because I had no other bass the ETB92M Nylons would fit on.

It doesn't matter, it's out of here with a poor fit in the neck pocket. Back to AC Jazz, and the Hofner 500/1.

Wow, that sucks! Yeah, you can't have that, otherwise it will probably lead to serious problems down the road.

Yeah, but at least like I think you said, at least it wasn't the Hofner.

I know, considering those aren't cheap, at least for the German ones.

Yeah,........ There's Sticker Price Shock, and then there's the 500/1 '64 Hofner! But least they're still hand made.

With the video? Yes, I did. Pretty cool. 8) There was another video, I think, where they toured the factory. I watched that a long time ago, as well.

It's cool seeing one being made from scratch like that.

Yeah, it looked like it would be easy to do, until they got into the more detailed work with shaving down the neck, and all of that. Woodworking wasn't something I even got to do much at all, though. I took wood shop as an elective in high school about a hundred years ago, and that's probably about the extent of that. I do remember the rule measure twice, and cut once, at least. :P

I was a two year wood shop apprentice, they called it in my high school, a long time ago now. I watch that link of them assembling the 500/1 Violins, and I would love to do that work.

It would be something to do that. I remember you saying you built your own bass cab. I guess if I was able to make anything, that would be the one thing I'd might attempt.

Never mind this post. I put it in the wrong thread.

Yes, I did make my own cab. It was a real piece of crap! I say that because it was so overbuilt for just a 2X12 cab. But that's when about all cabs, and combos for that matter, weighed a lot. It did have two exceptional Jensen Concert Vibranto speakers in it. JBL's, Electro-Voice, and Altec Lansings were way out of my price range back in 1969.

Oddly enough, Jensens are the only ones still around making speakers. JBL doesn't, just PA and home theater stuff, and EV pretty much the same, although they may still have one 12" speaker they still make. I'd have to check it again.

I see Jensen 12's in some of Fenders guitar Reverb Amps. I always thought Jensen 12's worked fine.
