Yeah, that is one beefy cab, especially if you have to move it around. I certainly wouldn't mind running my Ampeg PF-800 through it, but gigging with it could be a pain in the arse, since it's a lot bigger, and heavier than my Rumble 4 x 10" cab is. That could be problematic with transporting it, not even accounting for the weight. I only have so much room in a Honda CRV, with the rest of the gear.

A slim taper D shape. Very comfortable, and easy to play. The frets are well dressed. Better than some SG Std.'s. Overall, it's a really slick bass.

Sounds good. 8) I remember playing on an Epiphone EB-0 bass and thought the neck was really nice on it, as well.

Epi's seem to be making their basses very playable. Not everyone has large hands, and or long fingers.

Epi is doing what Gibson should be doing, at a more affordable price as well.

That's true. Some of the Epiphones even have Gibson pickups in them, from what I understand.

I have an Epiphone Viola coming in on Thursday. It's been a few years since the 1969 EKO Viola I had.

So, I take it that you managed to play on one then?

Yes, it played well. A lot like my EKO did.

Sounds good. 8) I've seen some demos of it and I thought it sounded pretty good.

To me it sounded fine. I do like the Viola body size being a bit larger than the Violin body size. It's very simple to set the tone on it. No switch for the pups, just a standard two volume, one tone. This Thursday should tell the tale.

Since you mentioned the Eko Viola Bass I remember reading an interview with Les Claypool talking about how Fat Dog at Subway Guitars in Berkley bought out the Eko factory and was assembling viola basses from the leftover stock. I just checked out the website for the shop but didn't see any.

Just thought I'd give you a possible heads up.

C/S,
Rev J
