When I was a kid with absolutely no tuning knowledge my first guitar had plenty of alternative tuning.

Thanks, for the clarification brother Glenn.

Now this is one rad bass.

I've been seriously putting in time on my new shorts scale Ibanez, and I have to say, even with the round wounds (I'm usually a flats player,) I'm digging the neck and playability of this bass. They make pretty good stuff, I think. 8)

There was a hollow body Ibanez I was almost going to go for, about a year ago. Then it was removed from the Ibanez line up. I couldn't find one anywhere. I can see how you are playing the Ibanez a lot. You may decide you like the rounds on that one.

Since you’re doing so much practicing with the Ibanez Paul, you might want to do the SRV thing. Rumour is that he used superglue or something like that on his fret finger tips to help ease the pain and wear and tear. I wouldn’t use any old Krazy Glue or similar because some is toxic and could cause other problems. But, like the products hospitals use, Liquid Bandage such as New Skin or Nexcare might do the trick as some have laid claim to. At least it would prevent a divot like I have in one of my fingies. It wouldn’t hurt to try. :P

I don't need to do that, but I have to say that I have noticed that guitar string do dig into your fingers more than bass string do, though. I couldn't put anything on my fingertips, since that would drive me nuts, like trying to put shoes on a dog that's not used to them. :P

I don't blame you. Besides, if you play long enough, your fingers get used to it, anyway.

It comes down to, you need to do what it takes to keep you playing.

The Am. Pro. Jazz has been getting more play time, since I went to the Bassman head, and cab. Amazing sounds. Definitely better for my playing anyway.

It's been a bit of playing the Am. Pro. more than the other two basses.
