I hope so. It really looks good from the posted pics of it. So it gets shipped in different box than it's original. When I get it, it's going in a gig bag anyway. 8)

Does it come with a gig bag, or you have to buy one?

I don't have the short scale gig bag, but I have a regular size Urban Fender Gig bag that will work.

Hey, whatever works. 8) By the way, I don't think I've mentioned this, but remember that I needed a case for the violin bass? Well, our guitarist had a sort of gig bag/case combo (hard gig bag?) thing that the bass fits in, so I'm covered. He's letting me use it, which is nice, since that's been my main gigging axe. I think it was meant for a different type of instrument (it's a little longer,) but like I said, whatever works, works.

Great! If you have a bit of room in the bag, case, just use some kitchen towels as some extra fillers to hold the bass in place. When I bought my first EB0, it didn't come with a case, and I spent so much on the EB0, I didn't have enough cash left to afford the proper case for it. So I bought a case that was too big for it. The kitchen towels filled in the gaps in the case, and held the EB0 from moving in the case.

I'm not sure what that case is even for. He had one of those Burns Steer guitars in it. It's on of these: http://www.burnsguitars.com/steer.php Pretty cool sounding guitar, albeit an odd one. It stays in pretty securely, without me having to stuff it with anything, though. It does have a V-shaped spacing where the head stock goes, which I have no clue why they did that. It's also just enough depth to it to where the violin bass fits in it. Maybe that's why it stays snug, and doesn't slide around.

It does work, that's all that matters to me, and the fact I don't have to shell out at least $65 to get a friggin' case for it, at least right now. Some of those cases even cost more than I paid for the bass, itself. I guess you got to have them, though.

They're almost a necessary evil. Cases do protect it.

Yeah, that's probably why they cost so much for them. :P

And the joke of it, most of the supposed heavy cases that cost so much, are no where near as solidly built as the older made cases.

That doesn't surprise me.

Speaking of going back to basses, I actually took the Precision Bass out of the case for the first time since I had originally used it for that first practice in Boston, which I think was probably a couple of months ago, by this point. It's still a pretty good player, but I do notice the difference between that, and the compactness of the violin bass, after playing on it consistently for the past couple of months, especially the weight. A Precision is definitely one hefty piece of wood. It would make a great club if people got too rambunctious at a gig. :P

I know what you mean about Precisions, and Jazzes making a great club.
The Mustang PJ showed up today, in pristine condition from Sweetwater Music. If they hadn't stated that it was an open out of the original Fender carton, I would have never known. They did pack it great. ImageImage
