Very nice, Mr. Nylon. I haven’t seen a Fender top colour popularity (sales result) list for some time; but, the last I looked 3 tone Sunburst topped the list at 40 percent, and Olympic White (on white) was the next popular colour, although I can’t recall by what percentage (if I recall correctly it was somewhere around 20 percent). Black was third and percentage was around 10 percent. Other colours such as red filled the rest of the spots. Times change, but my thoughts are not by much looking at the availability. The list was for Strats, but it would appear similarities exist throughout the lineup.

However you look at it, that combo looks sweet and classy, Mr. Nylon.

Thanks, for the pics. I suspect a sequel may show up someday though. Then again this one may be the award winner because I know it looks great with the stack. Enjoy!

I've always liked Olympic White over any other Fender color. To me it just says Fender. Image

Other than the Narrow Tall frets, and the V-Mod Single-Coil pups, it feels about the same as an Am, Std. Jazz. The Am. Pro. also has what Fender refers to a "Slim C" neck on it also. I don't think the Am. Std. had that on it. Like the USA Geddy Lee Jazz, it has a Bone Nut. ImageImage

Speaking of Jazz Basses, I still pick up and play mine, even though I've been sticking with the violin bass. Meanwhile, the Precision has been sitting in a case ever since I'd last used it in a band rehearsal a couple of weeks ago. I'm actually thinking about what I want to do, as far as that one is concerned. It's a nice bass, but I've noticed I do better with the violin bass, and the Jazz, which has a thinner neck, even though not a short scale.

You almost sound like me preferring a Jazz size neck, over a Precision size. You may decide the Precision isn't the right feel overall.

You know, I'm thinking you might be right with that one. Right now, I'm trying to situate my amp situation, but then I'll figure out what I want to do with the Precision. Sometimes, like the thread says, you can go back to something.

It get's kinda' crazy sometimes between Jazzes, and Precisions. After a while I blew off Precisions for Jazzes. I'm glad I did though.

I suppose there are alternative like those Precision Basses with Jazz necks, and Precision and Jazz pickup combos, which kind of gives you the best of both worlds.

Like you said, there are some alternatives. I my case, a Jazz. I'm ok with the Neck on a Jazz, and the sound of a Jazz. So, I guess it's a Jazz.

I might look into that Squier Short Scale Jaguar Bass. It has the P and J pickup configuration, plus the smaller neck, and it's passive electronics. I would have enough money to cover the cost of that if I could sell the Squier Precision. That's if I decide to do so, and not hold on to it.

Or how about a Mustang PJ.

I thought about that one, but it's almost $600, a lot more than I could get for selling the Precision. There used to be a Squier Mustang, but they discontinued it a within the past couple of years.

Yeah, the Mustang PJ is about $575., plus Tax, Tag, Title, and First Born Male Child. It's one of the lower priced Fender basses, but one of the most dynamic basses.

The QC I've seen on them is excellent too.
