I don't honestly know. They both did play the same, and other than it was the Heritage Cherry, I guess I was going hold on to it because of the finish, like my old EB0 had.
I like it, Glenn.

It reminds me of the old school axe when home made or school shop made guitars were the answer to the budding musician in teenagers that could ill afford that shiny professionally finished guitar in the music store window. Some great natural finished guitars got into the hands of these hobbyists and woodworkers. Imagine the mojo having an electric built amongst your school chums and teacher.

Besides, in a way, that’s somewhat how all the great guitars started out. On somebody’s work bench trying this and trying that only to perfect it later.

Nope, don't have just one, but I do enjoy my rotation. Four guitars(1 acoustic) and five amplifiers keeps me enjoying the different nuance of each combination and the sometimes double amp setup.

Old memories of a Heritage Cherry that's a long time gone. I'm not complaining, only having the Walnut now. The Heritage Cherry was ok, but something about the Walnut, YEAH...............

It's a vibe, I'm sure. I know they are inanimate objects, but I think instruments do have a "soul" to them, or a guess vibe would be a better descriptive. It could be just whatever you're feeling when you pick them up and play them, though.

It may be something like that Paul. I feel like I'm playing my EB0 from back when I was young, and stupid, in stead of old, and stupid like I am today. Probably why I'm going back to a tube head also.

Sometimes, we do wind up going full circle.

I seem to be susceptible to doing that.

I suppose it does relate to the topic of the thread. Imagine that, we're actually on topic for a change. :P Wasn't there actually a totally random thread on the forum that really wasn't about anything, or just off the wall stuff? I seem to recall seeing something like that a few years ago, when I had another account here. It may have been as far back as 2012, and started further than that.

I only had about a half an hour to play today, but the amp sounded great. Setting up the V-4B took no time at all. I don't know how, or why, but the Walnut SG does seem to play bit quicker than the Heritage Cherry did. I think it's just in my head, but it's a fine player anyway.

It's possible that the action might have been set slightly different, or just enough that it made a difference. Ever since I was able to tweak the neck and lower the bridge as much as I could, it definitely made a difference with how fast the neck felt. The same when I messed with the Precision Bass, too.

I'm thinking you're right on the neck being set a bit more to my liking, just by chance than the Heritage Cherry was. I could see by the check out card, they weren't set by the same tech at Gibson.
