That's right, they have a different radius than the Fenders do, don't they? I seem to remember seeing that in the specs.

Gibson SG's, both bass, and 6 stringers, appear to be 12" radius boards.

You like that better than the Fender 9.5" radius?

Definitely. It's a flatter surface, and my short fingers don't have to stretch as far over a more arched surface. A flatter board also makes a setup easier, because the E, & G strings are closer to being more even to the hight of the A, & D strings.

I see what you mean. Speaking of going back to a bass, besides putting a lot of time with the Precision Bass and violin, I've been playing a lot of the Jazz Bass, as well. I think that's going to be the first bass that gets fixed first, with the jack issue.

The Jazz is a good one to get into service. Nice and versatile.

Yeah, it is. For some reason, I find myself playing with more sliding on that bass that the Precision, but that could have a lot to do with the fact it has some broken in flats on it.

Flats are pretty quick string to use too.

Yeah, you don't have the friction that you do with the rounds. The Rotosounds have been shipped, so they should be here within the next few day, I suspect.

That's good, even with the Christmas mailing rushes.

I order them from Amazon.com, so that's probably why. I think they got distribution centers all over the place. I wished AMS still carried Rotosound, but they stopped doing that probably a couple of years ago, by now. They're really fast with shipping, and a great business to work with. The only flats they carry are the D'Addario ones, and I don't think they even carry nylon strings.

At 14 I got my first guitar, a small Framus, and it came with nylons. I remember that it was so kind to my fingies. :D
