I heard from someone, the Gibson SG Std. 2018's are limited run to 100 per color. I don't know. I hadn't heard that prior to acquiring my two. So if they are a limited run, I have a Heritage Cherry, and a Walnut.

You're saying that they are going to make only a 100 basses each? That doesn't seem like a lot, but then again, bass doesn't seem to be a Gibson priority.

Gibson is making the 2018 SG Std. basses as a regular run series. The three colors are, Heritage Cherry, Walnut, and Ebony.

That sounds good. They need to update their website, though. :P They didn't seem to mention anything about the new basses, just new guitars, or at least that's what I saw when I went there the other day.

You know, I could never bring myself to do that, even if I were rich and could have guitars piled to the ceiling. I'd just as soon give one to someone who couldn't afford an instrument, but wanted to play. At least it will be used, instead of wasted as scrap wood.

That’s what I’ve planned to do. Across town a cop set up a music program in a community hall where known acts perform and less fortunate and troublesome kids get to experience the joys of learning music. I’m hoping my gear will be put to use in some way there. I won’t be here to know if it will happen, but that’s the intention.

That sounds like a good idea.

I think it's fantastic idea. I myself can't see destroying a good guitar. I always worked to keep other's gear looking as good as possible. My own as well.

Yeah, I've had to do crap jobs to pay for my gear when I started out, and it often took me a long time to pay them off, so they aren't something I take for granted like that, Besides, I can't stand when things are wasted like that.

I agree with that also. Things just didn't come without working for it.

I guess there's different ways of seeing the same thing, to a different outcome.

I'm playing better, and more at ease with the setup on two short scales.

So you're liking the short scales a lot better than the long ones, then?

They do seem to be working better for me, Paul. I do like the 12" radius on the fretboards also. The flatter board does seem to take out the stretch over the curvature of a more rounded board.
