Ah, man. Very sad to see and he'll be sorely missed 'round these parts. RIP, Martian.

Rest In Peace Roy. It was great having you here on the Forum. I cherish the times that you and I got to talk.

Now do me a favor and go jam with all of your guitar hero's that are up there in Fender heaven with you.

It was a rough go for Roy these past five years or more. More family issues than I need to share with you here. To add insult to injury, his wife was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast disease and she chose not to abuse herself with the suffering associated with chemotherapy, the prognosis being grave. The juice was not worth the squeeze. Roy had fervently hoped that he would survive his colon cancer. Early this year he advised several of us who were closed to him of his terminal prognosis, opening with the following words..."I'm done''. We were hoping that Roy would have given his family a way to touch base with us when he passed. Mike, Rollie, and I would send him an email every week or so. Having heard nothing recently, Mike chose to investigate, and so here we are. Richer for what he was able to share. Poor for his passing. Another six-stringer gone home.

Ave, Atque, Vale.

As a person who has seen too many loved ones suffer and/or pass from cancer myself, Martian will be in my thoughts and his family has my very deepest sympathy. He was a great contributor to this forum and his loss will be felt by many of us.

Many thanks to those of you who chose to share this information...so many of us tend to come and go at times on this forum (myself included), while it's very sad news indeed, at least we know what happened.

There are about a dozen and a half, maybe two dozen members of this forum whose insights have greatly enriched my (guitar) life and Martian was most definitely in that group. I never met the man and didn't know his name was Roy until this thread but nevertheless my heart is saddened at the news of his passing. Mike's comment, "No more pain and suffering," seems the best thing to say.

Roy, you will indeed be missed.

It's sad the way this thread took an unfortunate turn. Martian was one of the good guys. He was very active on the forum when I joined and I learned a lot from his posts. It sounds like his life impressed a lot of people besides those on the internet. Roy will be missed. That's an accomplishment to be proud of.

Sad indeed. Seemed like a really nice guy and wealth of knowledge. I know I learned alot through the years and can't think of one negative comment. A class act.

If all his tips and wiring diagrams were combined into one thread it would fill alot of pages.

Just got home from work and viewed the E-mail from Doc...
Martian will be missed, he was most generous with his time and the unsnarling of complex HSS wiring.
I will think of his welcome contribution each time i plug in the Stratopartster II ... :)

Unfortunately, I don't believe I've ever interacted with him (if I did it would have been many years ago when I had another account here,) but I'd wish to extend my condolences to those that have known him.

To all of Roy's family, and friends (especially those brothers and sisters on this Forum) - Peace be with you as Martian makes his well earned journey to Rock and Roll Heaven.
