I was able to see Walter Trout perform in a small bar last night. He did a 2 1/2 hour set and was 110% energy from the first note to the last. He had John Mayall sit in with him, as well as Jimmy Vivino. His band was like a rolling freight train with no brakes. Talk about kickazz blues rock! I was totally blown away. It seemed like 70% of their songs were what other bands would use for a finale. Considering Walter had a liver transplant less than a year ago, I was amazed by his energy and enthusiasm. He's genuinely glad to be on stage again. Geek note: Walter played in the center position of his Strat for 95% of the set. He used the neck once, bridge twice and position 2 once, everything else was center pup. Here's a couple of pics:

He kicked off his "I'm Back" tour across the pond at Royal Albert Hall and I see on his web site that he's going to be playing all over in 2015! Great news! Thanks for sharing, Drew365.

Cheers!

He looks great!

We should all be so fortunate after undergoing major surgery.

Amazing show !!

Glad to hear he's responded so well to surgery as he's scheduled, along with Elvin Bishop to headline the 2nd Annual Lowertown Blues Festival in Mears Park, Saint Paul next month !!

Should be a great show !!

cheers!

I got to meet Walter last year before he left Omaha following his transplant. Our local Blues Society had a benefit/send off concert for him before he headed home. I say I got to meet him but, of course, he wouldn't remember me from Adam. I was one of many that paraded by and shook his hand. It goes with out saying he is a smoking blues guitarist. But it also seems he is a humble, genuinely nice guy.

Edited to ad: I just found out that Walter Trout and Tommy Castro are going to be playing here July 26! :D :o

I love me some Trout. Hope he continues to do well with the transplant. His humbleness is a big part of what makes him what he is.
