I think he might have problems booking that as "carry on" when flying

Then neck isn't really from a felling axe........he swapped it for one from a pick because its a better tone wood being the pick of the bunch.

Yea, James "Super Chikan" Johnson is a Delta Boy, working local farms before driving OTR until in his 40's.

He spent much time composing during those years and friends encouraged him to go full-time w/ his music 20 some years ago.

He has a handful of 'gimmick' guitars such as this axe, but he's a heavy-duty player in his own right.

He now lives in Clarksdale, MS and is one of the performers we'll see this Fall at the King Biscuit Blues Festival, and almost certainly in some of the surrounding clubs.

cheers!

I love Super Chikan. 8) He's actually one of my favorite blues musicians that are still around. That would be cool to have him make me a bass someday. He's made a gas can bass for his bass player that actually sounds pretty cool.

That video is a great find, Lightnin'. Thanks, for the entertainment. I dunno about the design though . . . I wouldn't want to lose my pickin' arm or fingers. :D
