Can't wait for this.

On and Island and Live at Gdansk are in constant rotation so this will be a welcomed addition. Hopefully if he tours I'll get to see the show.

I'm a fan of his playing, so I'll be sure to check this out.

This really shows how he needs Roger Waters.

It's funny, because I've been listening to the entire Pink Floyd catalog the past couple of days. Of course, the side effect of that is I've been GASing for a P-Bass again. Damn you, Roger Waters! :P

I'll hold my judgement til i hear the entire record but I'm in a bit of an agreement here.

I'm a huge ... huge Gilmour fan and I'd be lying to myself if I said I loved this. Maybe it will grow on me but the first couple listens were a little bland. I loved On and Island so hopefully this will just be one of my lesser favorite tracks.

I quite like it myself.
I have to admit the first minute or so was a bit of a shock.
It's not what you expect from Gilmour.
I don't see how that makes it bad, though.
Lots of artists modify their sounds and styles over time.

I will definitely buy this album and I predict I'm going to like it.

Also, my first impression is that I see no apparent need for Waters to have been involved.
This is a likeable music form in my view.
It's outside the usual Floyd genre, I admit but I like it nevertheless. At least so far.
I do not believe Waters would have been able to make this kind of transformation.
He would have screwed it up somehow.

I'm in agreement here as well. I have no issues with any artist changing it up and going down a different path. Perhaps a better fit for Waters would have been on The Endless River. I liked that record though i would have liked to have had some more lyrics. Maybe Waters would have added something there and it would have been a nice bookend to their catalog... or maybe he would have tried to turn it into Amused To Death again. probably the case. I am still looking very forward to this album. I loved On an Island so i too predict i will like this. If this turns out to be just my least favorite track, i'm good with that. I'm happy my favorite player is still putting out material when he's more than earned his retirement. I'm also glad he's playing MSG and not Radio City Music Hall... i work across the street from Radio City and it would have been very depressing leaving work as folks were showing up and i wasn't able to get a ticket.

Not the worse thing I've ever heard, but I wonder if a few years from now someone will post here asking how to get this tone. I kind of doubt that.
I've always felt that getting rich and famous is the quickest way to dry up the creative juices. It's pretty hard to maintain the same perspectives when you're eating in the steak bar and driving your Jaguar.
Nonetheless, David Gilbmour's image won't get tarnished by a little lackluster product. His legacy is pretty much beyond reproach.

So far, the only 2016 shows scheduled are in the U.S. for Chicago, NY, and LA (and that is Los Angeles, not Louisiana, my Cajun friends).
