Getting the parts together for my next project. Going to be an HH converted to 2 humbucker sized P90's. Got the pickups and the found the guitar I was looking for. Just need pots and knobs. Right now the 3rd pot has been replaced by a toggle switch to split the bridge pup and it has 2 large amp style knobs. The soldering is pretty bad so just going to start over. Has a mini pot and a full sized 500k pot. Neither seem to be volume and 1 seems to be a Dan Armstrong style phase blender set up. I'm going with a 4 way switch for in and out of phase when combined and the traditional 1 volume with 2 tone pots. Was thinking 500k pot for volume but not sure whether to go with 250 or 500k for the tones. Right now I have the bridge P90 on an HSS without any tone control and is really boomy unless I combine it with the middle.

Suggestions?

I think 300k pots are at least what Gibby will use for P90 equipped guitars. At least that's what came with my SG Classic w/P90s.

Hadn't considered an in-between value pot!

My Thinline Tele, which came with SD P90's, has 500k volume and 250k tone pots.

My personal choice would be 250k

Interestingly enough if you look at for example Seymour Duncans diagrams for P90s, it shows 500k pots for 2 p90s, with 2 volume and 2 tone controls.

What works sensationally for one may or may not apply to the next person. I've seen this time and time again. Your best bet is to try them all and see what works best for your particular applications. As you know, pots are not a big bucks item and I'm sure you'll use the 'leftovers' somewhere down the road.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.
