Here in Wisconsin we are absolutely blessed to have Summerfest at our disposal every year. http://www.summerfest.com/alt/index.cfm

Where do you folk that aren't from the midwest, get your multi artist party on, and what is the best you've ever seen? :D

I've never been to a festival. I'd really like to sometime soon if there were one somewhere near me.

Bonnaroo is by far the coolest festival I've ever been to. I went in 2006 and 2007 and had a few of the best days of my life there. The vibe is unbeatable.

HOWEVER, it appears that MTV may have bought it. Hence Metallica and Kanye West headlining in 2008. So I definitely skipped this year. Hopefully next year can bring back the Bonnaroo I know.

We are lucky enough to have alot of festivals here in Ottawa (Canada). My favorite is probably Bluesfest.

I think it still exsists in Christian rock. Well, not quite half a million strong.

The 3-day Atlantic City Pop Festival ran August 1-3, 1969. Amoung the performers (in no particular order):

Iron Butterfly, C.C.R., Jefferson Airplane, Little Richard, Janis Joplin, Santana, Joe Cocker, BB King, Joni Mitchell, Three Dog Night, Dr John, Procol Harum, Arthur Brown, Little Richard, Canned Heat, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Chicago, Sir Douglas Quintet, Tim Buckley, Booker T and the M.G.'s, Butterfield Blues Band, The Byrds, Lothar and the Hand People, The Chambers Brothers and others!

This festival was why I missed Woodstock, which happened a few weeks later.

Tickets were $15 for all 3-days and 110,000 folks attended the festival held at the Atlantic City Racetrack.

Check out http://www.e-rockworld.com/AtlanticCity.htm

I was 24, just married (the first time) and had I just gotten back from 4 months of work in St. Paul. We had a blast.

As I remember, it was sunny and hot - pretty humid - as I said we had a blast - we stayed at the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall Hotel - an Atlantic City landmark - my parents had taken me and my brother there many times when we were youngsters.

My young wife had never been to any large outdoor music show, let alone a festival - she was a little apprehensive with the large crowd - but she relaxed as the first day went on, and we had a lot of fun. I remember one of the hard parts was getting to/from the hotel and the race track - a taxi worked getting to the track - after the show, we walked out until we could catch a cab. We were a little better off than lots of folks who camped out in there cars or vans.

What we liked best was the eclectic mix of music - it was all over the place - if you didn't like a particular group - just wait - one that you liked would be along shortly

It was a great experience - and the weather cooperated so we didn't have a mud bath.
