BB King shared his blues with the world. At his passing the world has the blues.

Saw BB at the Houston Jazz Festival in the Astrodome in 1979. He walked on the stage to a loud applause. He hit the first note and the crowd erupted. When he began singing the place exploded. I'd been a fan of BB King before then but on that day I really understood.

RIP

The blues will live on, thanks in no small part to BB's popularizing of the form and his endless touring over the years to bring it to the people. My first "contact" with BB's music was the "Live at the Regal" album and that convinced me that this man is greatness!
