Just for the heck of it yesterday , I was scrolling through my local Craig's List when I came across this guitar which is a Ibanez V70CE Acoustic / Electric. The seller originally was asking $100.00 for it but I was able to talk him down to $75.00 considering that there are some dents on it and that there was some fret buzz which I was able to get rid of with a slight truss rod adjustment. I cleaned the fretboard with some Lemon Oil and restrung it with a new set of Elixirs along with polishing the body as well. It sounds pretty damn good especially through my Fender Roc-Pro 700's Clean channel . Considering what I paid for it, I think I scored a pretty sweet deal here although my dog KoKo looks like she could care less. LOL.

It turns out that I might not have this guitar for long. There's a guy on CL in the Worcester, Mass. area who is looking for a Acoustic / Electric and is willing to trade, get this , a 1979 MIJ , Takamine F-349 Mahogany model , Martin lawsuit guitar. I've seen the photos of it and it looks like it's in NM condition. I've heard about these guitars and know how hard they are to come by, so if I can score this , my life will be complete !

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

If this is true, don't even hesitate you would be getting the better end of this deal. I used to have a F349 Takamine. Only guitar I've ever regretted letting go.

The deal never went through. The guy never showed up and didn't bother to call or anything. Typical Craig's List BS.

Well, I didn't get the Takamine but, I got something in return that IMO, sounds and looks great . This is a new, Mitchell MD-100 which is sold only through Guitar Center and their affiliates. I ended up swapping the Ibanez for this yesterday and I'm glad that I did . This sounds like a axe that you would find in the 5-6 hundred dollar range and has a Spruce Laminate top with Mahogany Back & Sides. It has tone like you would not believe, just like a Martin and sustain that lasts forever. It stays in tune like a charm and to be honest here, it blows away both of my Fender Acoustics . I did some research and found that this company has been in business since 1986 and that this model only sells for $135.99 brand new . I could not believe that. If any of you listen to one of these, you'll think this is a much more expensive instrument. I highly recommend this guitar guys. I love it and can not put it down.

I wish Guild would have resurrected their Songbird. I'd have been first on line. :?
