I was doing a search to learn more about the different fret types for Strats and got side tracked with this video about Mark Knopfler which I hope will be of interest to the community.

... now back to fret wire ...
Cheers!

I just watched it all the way through, very interesting and entertaining, thanks for posting it. It must been a nice bonus for the local punters in that little pub to have Mark turn up casually like that one night just out of the blue. 8)

I too found the video informative and entertaining. I also found it moving, emotionally. What impressed me was the tremendous respect John Illsley has for Mark Knopfler and the love and respect they both have for the music. I think MK sums it up eloquently when he says "Music will be a friend to you all your life".

Cheers!

I, as others, have the Brothers In Arms LP with the great album art, and now we know more about that iconic 1937 National Style 0 Resonator. Thanks, Bluer Monkey.

That was great. I've been to Robins Hood Bay. Part of the town is built on the side of a steep cliff overlooking the bay. Unfortunately, that was one of the few pubs we missed that trip.

Great to see/hear some of his history.. A phenomenal influence on many and still one of my all time favorite guitar players.
