Cheers Mike
It's Randy's astonishment at finding the chord that's funny, I think he could sit there happily playing that over and over all night long.
Here's a couple of guys demonstrating, sound's god to me.

That's a good one too, Rip.

I can't imagine Randy sitting at the Abbey Roads console with
Martin's son and full availability to all the tracks to listen to and
hear the isolated parts, both instruments and vocals.

Actually, Mike, George Martin was recruited as a consultant to set up an elaborate multi-track studio in Randy's home town (late 60s or early 70s, I'm not sure of the year). It could be that they struck a chord back then, or earlier :D

That's great, Mike. Adds to Randy's credibility. It's not the studio I had in mind, though. Winnipeg's Century 21 (1968) and maybe Oakwood Audio (1970) (a spinoff) preceded Randy's. Randy is credited with some writing and producing there. Belafonte, amongst others, also used the facilities. I do not know the exact George Martin details on how he was related, whether casually or professionally, only that this was the scuttlebutt around town, and the local industry. I do run into one of the originators of these studios from time to time, and, as we hung out together in our younger days, I may find out. But, I know George was active in the frozen north, and the music industry, small compared to that in the States, is a very close community, with ties to the UK, so Randy has my vote.

Note: In 1998 AC/DC's road crew picked up Century 21's Neve console . . . so maybe that mixer was associated. I admit, I don't know.

Cheers!

That's very cool, Mike. It really is a small world in this huge industry.

Regards.
