Thank you Fender. I do like Telecasters. This new Telecaster is beautiful. 8)

I really like this Tele. 8) To bad I'm skint, or it would be mine right now.

The Tele is very cool. I love block inlays. However, I'm still looking for a solid body 12-string. Need that first.

For a 12-string solidbody, I'm not aware of anyone except Danelectro that make them in any volume.

As for the block inlays, I'm disappointed that it's mother-of-toilet-seat. The costs for a set of real mother-of-pearl blocks for a Gibson is around $50, so this doesn't appear to be a justifiable saving on a $1500 guitar. Had it been a $500 guitar, yeah, I could see it being justified.

I bought a Hardtail and consider it one of the best buys of my life.

A really fabulous guitar to play, at a stupidly low price. Snap one up while/if you still can as you wont be disappointed.

Don't be put off by first impressions though. I didn't immediately bond with mine but, after a a week or so, it has become my guitar of choice.

I hadn't played a neck with jumbo frets previously and it was perhaps this which I found the most off putting initially. Now I love them, and probably wouldn't buy another guitar without.

The weight (or lack of it) still surprises me, despite the number of times I pick up the guitar during the day. Strangely though despite its lack of weight (or perhaps because of it) the guitar seems to have much more feel than any of my others. This is again a subtle thing - initially the guitar felt a bit dead, but now my Strats with Trems seem a bit sloppy in comparison. I have even considered blocking their trems as a result.

Long and short' - I may have found my guitar Nirvana. I can't really think of a reason to buy another guitar after this and the difficulty in getting a MiA Hardtail, at modest money, means I am unlikely to feel that urge - so even better value for money as it stops me chasing other guitars... well perhaps.

I have even pondered getting a second one as I think this could become a Classic. But then I would have to sell one to ultimately realise my investment and I wouldn't want to. And it would be a crime not to play it.

Hey hey Mr Sims, very interesting to hear your gushing for the Strat hardtail... I bet you got the Sunburst :)
I must agree... I think it a crime to buy any guitar just for an investment, the meat on the wall, slowly rotting in heartbreak as a distanced wallflower, quiet for the A-retentive really, pfooey!

Welcome to the Forum Pedro Cedro !
I looked for 24 fret Stratocasters and couldn't locate one but customer service can help and the custom shop can create just about any Fender guitar imaginable. The Stratocaster Forum here is a great place for Strat questions but this is a good place to begin as well. Have fun here !

The Tele is very very nice, I especially like the block inlays :D

Well obviously :D And I didn't even mention the gorgeous glossy finish that is so deep and lustrous that you could dive in and swim around in it.

I am rather fascinated by what is lurking under 04. Regrettably I haven't thought up a good enough excuse to suggest a further purchase yet. I can't even sell a few things on eBay (as little is moving currently) on the pretence that such meagre sales would off set the purchase of more Fender goodness.

I would be more than happy to offer my services in respect of a long term review though ... if anyone from Fender happens to read the above. I will, of course, be honest and subjective but would need the guitar for a period as (as I found with my very lovely Hard tail) first impressions can be very inaccurate.

Plus 1 on the hard tail!!

It was my first strat and I bonded with her nicely, but..... I gave the pickups a honest chance and I just cannot get used to them. Playing it at low volumes on my own is fine for me but playing with my band is another story, they just can't keep up, not enough output for me and the "buzz" is getting annoying.
I want to keep it as original as possible so I'm thinking I'll get a new pick guard pre-wired and save the original just in case I want to put back to original again.

I can understand your thoughts on the PUP's. My HT is my late night lounge Blues doodler so, if anything the low power PUP's were actually advantageous but they are very different to my other Strats. I didn't really like the sound of them first off but they have now grown on me to the point of preference.

That said, I can certainly see that, if you are already at the top end of your amp for gigging, you might struggle. Why not get a TC Electronics Spark booster or similar - it would be cheaper than loading up a scratch plate and would give you more controllable grunt over and above hotter PUP's.

I am debating trying to find one of the Hardtails to more or less go with the mid '70s Hardtail I have. The problem is, I'm used to the vintage neck and fretwire. I wish Fender would have at least put thinner wire in this guitar to more closely match the guitar it is reissued after, but I'm debating buying this or just building what I want.
