I was solely thinking of this as a live Mixer. For my private recordings I use Logic X with 2 screens, a trackpad - and sometimes the iPad control. Sufficient for modern sample rates (with my Presonus Firestudio)

Some Behringer products I've owned are at least as good as equally priced products from another bargain brand and sometimes can rival anything else for the money.

As pointed out their bass combos have a bad reputation but sound good at Guitar Center levels. That is because Behringer does stupid things like building a 300 watt bass combo and putting a 200 watt speaker in it. That is a recipe for disaster before you take it out of the box.

Their little mixers are reliable and I have one that is at least 7 years old and still flawless, their powered mixers though have a worse reputation, but so do powered mixers from anyone else. There is just more to go wrong with any powered mixer.

The Behringer B-1 condenser microphone is pretty good compared to the similarly priced MXL models and really as good to me as any other studio condenser under $300 including the lower end Shure. I bought one B-1 and liked it so much I bought another for a stereo pair. It really is a good microphone for recording and I recommend it frequently. The other microphone that is useful to me for recording is the Shure SM7B.

Their BDI-21 bass amp emulator pedal is an economical and totally usable direct in for recording situations. I have both a $35 BDI-21 and a $300 Tech 21 Bass Driver Deluxe. I use the BDI-21 for home recording and it is totally fine for that while the Tech 21 stays on the pedal board I use when playing out.

Behringer subs as pointed out are a value leader and the last band I was in used them with Peavey mains. They sounded good and while we frequently blew horn drivers in the Peavey mains the subs kept on trucking.

Anyone who lumps all Behringer products together collectively labeling it all as junk is missing out on a few good performing values. Their line contains some turkeys for sure. For example nobody takes Behringer branded bass or guitar amps on world tour. But if they are all you can afford or looking for a practice amp they are better than nothing. Where people get into trouble with their bass amps is often caused by inadequate speakers.

There was a time when Peavey gear was seriously looked down upon, but now it is perfectly acceptable. What Peavey did best early on was to make durable sound gear at a reasonable price which forced other makers to step up their performance and cut their profit margin or get out of the PA/amp game. Behringer sort of repeated the Peavey process but did it by using Asian manufacturing first. Now about every other brand has followed them to Asia, at least in their lower end gear.

What this buyout means for TC I have no idea. I have never even demoed a TC product because all they make that I'd use are bass amps and cabs and I'm pretty well set there.

Now I did really like SWR bass amps and Sunn bass amps. The market decided their fate along with many other once reputable and well made lines no longer alive. The market will decide again.
