My wife and I saw Robert Cray at a theater in Clearwater FLA last night. Great show! We had seats second row center, so close I could see the position of his pickup selector switch. :)

He play two Strats, one was a custom shop 3 tone burst with a flame maple neck, the other was gold with a black pearl pickguard.

I am always amazed to watch someone tear it up on a guitar and remain relaxed and casual.

Truly a great talent.

He's a great performer. I saw him and Buddy Guy at the Rhyman Auditorium, Nashville, TN in 2004/2005. He kind enough to sign my Strat and hung out with the some fans while Buddy was on.

He said good night, shook everyone's hand, lit up a cigar and walked to the hotel. He was a really nice guy.

I saw him open for BB King a little while back. He's great. Didn't get to meet him, but I did get to shake his hand as he left the stage.

I'm a big fan - especially of his hardtail guitar - but have never had the pleasure of seeing him perform. And just out of curiosity, is it the angle of the video or is RC slinging his Strat much lower than he used to do?

Cheers!

Looks like he's kicked Fender amps to the curb......

His tone and phrasing are stellar. Wonderfully smooth tenor voice and a truly gifted writer. I would love to catch him in concert sometime.

He had a Fender Vibro-King in between the two Matchless.

Guess it's his long-time favored Inca Silver guitar with a new pickguard fitted. Perhaps an illusion :?:
