I hit the boost switch on my new Egnater Tweaker 15 watt head in the middle of a note, and no sound came out of the amp. Geez I figured I'd have to send the amp back, or pay shipping to Egnater.

So I took out the fuze and went to Ace Hardware to see if I could replace it. The guy there tested it and said it was OK. So I went back home and put the fuze back in the amp, and plugged it all back together with power and guitar and speaker cab at which time I noticed that I had also moved the drive knob to zero when I hit the boost switch. And bingo it worked again when I turned it back up a bit. (I am glad there was no one around at the time to witness this live, oops) But I did learn there are no fuzes of that type around here, so I e-mailed Egnater to see if I could buy some spares. I will hear back on Monday. That mistake just may save me some time in the future if the fuze ever blows.......

A good time saver would be a multimeter to be able to quickly check a fuse. Almost any cheap meter would be fine for checking fuses.

True, but he might just buy a Fluke to start with, because once you start using meters, you'll soon going to want one anyhow. They just keep working.

I do have a multi meter that I use for BIASING the power tubes, I wanted to get a new fuze and several backups anyways, and Ace is right across the street, it is not like I had to travel to get to Ace Hardware. Other wise I would have read the multi meter manual and tried to test it myself.

How about a 9v battery and....your tongue?
Quicker than a meter (detach the fuse from the amp 1st)

It's fuse, not fuze.

It's fuse, not fuze.

And it's also SoLder not "sodder" and AluMINium, not "aloominum" :D

Excusez-moi it must have been the months of tweaking my now sold Super Champ X2 and posting on the Fuze forums. Either that or my attention deficit disorder as portrayed in the thread starter........ One or the other.
