Absolutely no idea what I've done to it but it hurts like hell, like a sprain but with no swelling.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks chaps. I'm going to use the recovery time to brush up on some theory, I want to play some jazz so an ideal opportunity to learn some complex theory :D

"Like a sprain but with no swelling", hope it's not gout. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Best of luck.

Good way to use the downtime and keep the attitude in the right perspective

Hope you recover soon though.

Nope :) Still with me. I had X-rays done this week, just waiting on the results. My doctor is suspecting arthritis (bummer), but can't say conclusively until the results are back :)

Alas no rides were hitched, but many real life 'Facebook likes' were given by the raising of my hand :D

I've also been enjoying showing a colleague a few basics as he's wanting to learn to play guitar, but has always been put off by musical theory and sheet music. He'd never heard of tablature nor realised how simple it can be to get your foot in the musical door. It's always good to show people the basics of guitar playing as it makes sure I don't forget either :D

Well, I got the news I didn't want today :( Osteoporosis AND osteoarthritis. I'm off to a specialist next month to see what course of action they can take in terms of alleviating the symptoms.

That's tough, Nick. I manage to control osteoarthritis pain in my legs/knees, and I know how painful it is, but I have more good days than bad, and that goes for my hands which are not severe like you have; although, I have a delinquent tendon that will lock a finger if I overwork it. I write it off to age.

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. Osteoporosis is different.

Keep the faith, Nick.
