Hey y'all, I've been absolutely the worst when it comes to being an active forum member lately (blame school, mostly), but I finally got a decent, recent YouTube video up of me playing the Forumcaster live! It's not the best playing I've ever done, but it's something.

https://youtu.be/RIHuuzYOXhQ

I was just thinking about how much I love that guitar and how well it's done for me. Thank you guys so much for helping me with everything from the idea for it to actually building it!

And here's a bonus clip of the same show... Featuring my Fender Mandolin! Apparently I play mandolin now. (I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing on it, it's new to me.)

That was really good, Rebecca. And I felt your solo, it really was a soul-o.

Thanks for touching base with us and bringing us up to speed. From your FB page I have been taking note of your creative work with your colleague, exploring a different side of music. 8)

And on top of that I have a fusion jazz group, a big band, a blues band and a couple of traditional music groups that I'm working with. I'm exploring a whole bunch of different sides at once!

Good to see your post Texas ! I liked both videos. You are busy in a musical way and it's good to know you're enjoying that. Looking forward to more videos and posts when you have time.

That was really terrific...beautiful dynamics and timing behind the vocal...then that Solo started to rip and I instinctively reached for the Volume...but it was OK...in fact it was Good...if Jimmy or Eric played it...we'd learn it note for note...Keeeeep Rocking

...or doing Bigjazzbluestrad :-D

Why Dan....you surprise me  . She's playing HER songs on OUR collective guitar. In that it's already a group effort, we SHOULD learn her solos.  8) Ya ne-ver know.

I sure liked the performance overall...especially the guitar work...the build was before my time Doc...(and I don't get to say that much anymore) :)

I took time to watch the vid again...besides the guitar players prowess...the guitar sounds great...versatile set of tones...the full bass notes...shimmery vibrato chords...scream and growl when ya need it...

What's on the pedal board TGS?

Can someone give me a link to the build? I appreciate it in advance!

My board tends to change a lot, but as of the past few months it's been an Empress Effects Buffer+, a Mojo Hand FX Rook Overdrive (it's subtle, so I keep switched on all the time), a Mojo Hand FX Bluebonnet (grittier than the Rook, it was also on all the time in the video), an MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay (on all the time), a Boss DD-20 (which I mainly use for church stuff, but it was also on in the video for a bit of extra sustain), and a Mojo Hand FX Bayou Tremolo (again, used mostly for church or blues, so not in the video).

A friend also just gave me a Jetter GS124, which is a Dumble-style overdrive. I'm not sure if I can justify a place on my board for it given that I already use two overdrives, but I'm thinking that it'll make an appearance in the fusion jazz gig I have later next month. I'd like to get a nice compressor and/or reverb pedal someday, but it'll have to wait until after I get back from Europe.

And here's a link to the build thread: http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=49638

It seems every time you post something new Rebecca I gain more and more respect for your playing abilities. Loved the guitar playing, the solo has nice phrasing (something that eludes most lead players) and surprise, surprise, (for me) I liked the mandolin as well.

Keep doing what you do and post when your music when you can, we sure dig it.

You just need a BIGGER PEDAL BOARD  hehehe

I'll have to look Mojo Hand FX up  :D

Thanks for the link...at 33 pages it'll take a while...maybe I better skim the pictures

I've tried so many pedals...most of them too hiss noisy...then recently put DiMarzio Area 61-58-67 single humbuckers in a build with a Clapton boost...

...wow...what a change...No Noise at all even with the boost all the way up...and very wide range of Stratty to 'bucker tones...

...they even make cheap pedals sound better!

Keep on doing the Good Work...Dan
