Happy Birthday Slowhand. At his age and what he's accomplished , he's earned the right not to tour if that is what he wants. Can't say that I blame him . He wants to enjoy the rest of his life with his family I assume , which is the right thing to do. God bless him.

^^AGREED!
I just watched two different TV programs of him in the past couple of days. One was very recent and the other the 2004 Crossroads re-run. He has aged drastically in his facial features and hair as per the recent pgm, but still plays and sings near the top of his game. Hope he continues for many more years!

(waiting for chromeface to post the why's and how's) :D

Actually old slowhand will continue his public appeareances with one-offs, he says that "touring is unbearable" - that's why he decided to quit the road after rocking out around the globe for a whole half of a century chok full of activity both on stage and in the studio.

Good info slowface err chromehand

Liked the videos you picked as well! :D

edit  : Happy B-Day Eric!

Happy 70th Birthday E.C. I have been a fan from the first time I ever heard him play. He has and always will be a true inspiration.

One of the best moments of his carreer IMO! Soldanos, mid boost, Lace Sensors, Cornish racks with Vox Wah-Wah pedal, Versace stage suits and guitar straps, nothing can beat the unmistakable look and sound from the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Have to agree with that. Loved that era of the (modified) SLO100, LS, etc.

Chromey, which EC Strat do you use?

Worth repeating once more as to what monster that rig was. Seen up close and personal at the Bonham's auction in NYC. What caught the eye were the size and thickness of the power cables supplying it.

I wonder what he was aiming for then? Gilmour envy, perhaps? I had an SLO 100 simulation in my old Line 6 AX2 which was killer !!

[P.S. Stick around.....I expect Chromeface to stop by with a picture of his favorite Wampler pedal. ]

I do not own an EC Strat but an EC-inspired Squier Silver Strat with Lace Sensors, American Series bridge, a 21-fret neck and passive circuitry.

That's a nice looking guitar...I hadn't heard of the Squier Silver Series before now...researching a bit...a top 90's MIJ model

Love the look of the Neck...nice play pattern on the fretboard...did you do that?
