Thanks for the warning SBLS...but of what? :?

an observation. The thread was DOA but then "a word about something new" just seemed like bad timing.
Oh I get it, you didn't notice that, "I don't know if this has been covered here before...it's news to me." sorry

No Need to be Sorry at all...I'm good with dead threads

...usually it's two or three guys hijacking a thread to no one else's amusement...

...fortunately that didn't happen here... :)

I thought John Page's new gig was interesting...ha...

Well back on subject! I just received and email that this guy is WRITING THIS WAY to make his point, because he just got off the phone with FENDER CUSTOMER SUPPORT and they told him that FENDER MADE STRAT PLUS GUITARS WITHOUT ROLLER NUTS IN 1988! Now this guy wants me to CHANGE MY MISINFORMATION ON MY WEBSITE. Good grief!

My question is, who is answering these questions at Fender's customer support? Any history book about Fender guitars that deals with the Strat Plus back in 1987 onward knows they came with a Wilkerson roller nut. That is like saying "I just talked with Fender and they told me Stratocaters NEVER had a Tremolo!" Good grief. They need Rob there to help these kids at Fender.

Fender: "Hold on - let me check my presets - I must have one for this"!

Guess that is the circle of life. The modeling amp replaces the tube amp and when it comes to employees the older ones are being replaced by young execs turned out by the MBA mills. How many of them can even play a chord? Or understand how a tube amp works? No wonder we have such a push for modeling amps. Presets and mouse clicks they can understand. Reminds me of the Veteran's hospitals - although most of the people working there are Vets dedicated to helping other Vets, the Director is usually the Corporate Executive type with a background the same as the typical CEO who concentrates on cutting corners or whatever else it takes to get their bonuses.

edit.
Xhefri, a very nice website you have. I do not know where the older Fender employees have gone but imagine it is the same place all of us older workers are.
My misinterpretation will warrant my apology which you have now.
I have read and re-read these posts and can not understand any of it. I have to pull the senile old guy card, I wasn't here when this happened, not sure where I was but I don't believe it was here. :?

Thank you Dan ! I'm ok, just going through one of those "I know that I came in this room for some thing but what was it" phases. Semi-annual, this year it came a little early or late, I cant' remember.

Neuroscientists claim that experience is a manifestation of location specific thought. When you change your surroundings, you erase the slate. For example...in the kitchen I absentmindedly take note of the fact that I need another roll of paper towels. I go into the garage where I keep them and forget why I'm there.

Is that what's troubling you, bunky :?: Well.....put your head down low and take a run for it  :!: You'll never give up, never give up, never give up.......that ship :!: :!: :!:
