Yessir! This reminds me, I need to meet up with ol' Rob for lunch soon.

Great Idea! Tell him HI from Jeff. :-)

Mike Eldred Trio tours with and opens for George Thorogood and the Destroyers this summer. Thank you Fender Management for helping to put our main man on the road to rock star status.

We're seeing more of Mike Eldred's life and times these days than that of the man who you chose to replace him. Certainly hasn't been of any use to us here.

BTW ya'll....This recording is killer...a definite 'must own it!!"

Kind of takes us back to the start of this thread. I have quite frequently people emailing me saying the contacted Fender to get info on their 1987-1993 guitars and the PR at Fender could not help them. I remember, because that is how I got to know Rob, because he could answer a lot of those questions. The team of younger guys just do not have the knowledge or experience under their belts people like Rob did. I have email with one guy there who was really helpful and I think he use to work under Rob a few years ago. I just found it interesting that Fender is owned by a large conglomerate corporation, as we discussed early on in this thread. And we all know how things go when that happens to a smaller company.

NO NO Tell me that's NOT YOU!!!!!!   If ya were not so far away I would take ya out for dinner! :D I just emailed a guy who was asking me a bunch of questions about his guitar and we got into this subject, one reason I revisited this thread. I told him your whole story and the irony behind the timing of it. He was a bit shocked! Oh well, that is all history now and life goes on. Your missed there though by guys like us.

That'd be AWESOME if you can make it out next week, Rob! I definitely intend to be there this time -- missed the last one.

Can you leave a clue to which one?

OK OK I get it! I went to your FB page and then even to Reverbnation and listened to some of the tunes! I wish we would have taken more picts back in the 1970s! You have some fun stuff on there and someone got it on Polaroid camera! I did not know you and your brother both played in a band together. Pretty cool.

hey Jeff, thx for checkin it all out..

Yeh my brother and I played in quite a few groups together over the years....AND were co-workers at Fender for quite some time as well. He was let go a year before I was.
Truth be told, among Fender "experts", I certainly consider Jack pretty far up the ladder in terms of knowledge and the applications of it. And he is definitely, no contest- THE guitarist of the two of us. He can build em and he can play em. I'll just say that I believe he is missed in more areas at Fender than anyone could fathom---not just a brother bragging.......pure fact.
anyway..;O) thanks again! I'm fading back into the backround...take care!

Yes it was the story about your brother being let go exactly one year before you I relayed to the follow who emailed me. Really a strange coincidence? or ? It was one year to the day, right?

My older brother played in bands way before I was old enough to do it. But years later the guys he played with became my friends and then we played together, and sometimes still do! Lot's of fun.

I will be watching your FB page a little more, as time allows, and get in a few laughs! :-) Pretty cool too becuz FB has put me in touch with John Page who is always gracious about answer questions. Also was in touch recently with Paul Gagon who contributed some info for my website on the development of the TBX.
