Thank you Dan ! I'm ok, just going through one of those "I know that I came in this room for some thing but what was it" phases. Semi-annual, this year it came a little early or late, I cant' remember.

Neuroscientists claim that experience is a manifestation of location specific thought. When you change your surroundings, you erase the slate. For example...in the kitchen I absentmindedly take note of the fact that I need another roll of paper towels. I go into the garage where I keep them and forget why I'm there.

Is that what's troubling you, bunky :?: Well.....put your head down low and take a run for it  :!: You'll never give up, never give up, never give up.......that ship :!: :!: :!:

WHOO-HOO :D ...Good one Doc - "Neuroscientists claim..."

What is that "...never give up..." ditty :?:

Actually...I need help understanding ALL of it  8)

This might turn into a really interesting thread...feel any better now SBLS? :D

Feeling fine Dan, thank you again for asking. What were we, or, talking about guitars, yes we were talking about guitars. Ok I'm good. :D

So I Did...I was too young...then too old...his was a streaky career even for a Cult Star...but the last verse in his sketch deserves a fuller presentation:

Eddie asks plaintively, "Is that what's troubling you, friend?" Suddenly cymbals crash and a brassy rendition of "National Emblem" plays as Eddie declaims in full voice, "L-L-L-Lift your head up high and take a walk in the sun with that dignity and stick-to-it-iveness and you'll show the world, you'll show them where to get off, you'll never give up, never give up, never give up" — [two drumbeats] — "that ship!"

Hmmm ... do I qualify as an "older employee"? I mean, believe me, it feels like I've worked here 40 years ... but it's actually only been 15. :D All kidding aside, thanks much for some of the compliments offered through this thread and it's been an interesting read. Of course, many of you know that I'm always just an email or Facebook message away ... but going straight to the source just wouldn't make for good forum threadage, of course. I get that. Anyway - still here, folks. :-)

Oh, and re: Rob ... the guy is everything folks state about him here and more. Back in my own early days here at Fender I started noticing that it was typically and this one other feller (namely, Rob) were almost always, consistently, the last ones still at work while the rest of HQ emptied night after night. A friendship inevitably forged, and Rob helped me understand the general ins and outs of the place early on. Simply fantastic gent, and still very much an active part of the family!

Not eligible for the gold watch yet then! (Hope Rob got one. With a knurled dome knob.)

As for e-mailing you, well, some of us may be old-fashioned enough to think it somewhat rude to do so without it being work related or without you telling us directly that it's okay. Now that you have, if you go awol again, I'm sure someone will. :)

Rob is missed there at Fender, even to this day.
