I just got back from Guitar Center where I was just going to go and get some strings and accessories. For some reason, I decided to go and check out the Acoustic guitars and there it was calling my name , a brand new , Fender DG-60 in the Natural Finish. They are going for only $159.99 and with the current sale, I got 15% off which lowered the cost to around $ 138.00 or so. That is one heck of a deal and this guitar sounds great. It didn't have a case but I was able to get a Musician's Gear gig bag for only 20 bucks. Life is good.

That's a pretty cool deal. 8) So how many have you got in your collection now?

Paul , I have a 2002 Squier Affinity Strat , a 2012 Squier Standard Strat , a Epiphone Gold Top 1956 Re-Issue LP w/ P90's which is a 2009 model , a 2014 Fender CD60CE in Mahogany , and my new DG-60 which brings the total to 5. I think I have enough now to last me for a while. LOL.

That's cool. 8) Now you have to park the car side by each and throw me down the stairs my shoes. I couldn't help it, I noticed that you live in Woonsocket, and according to my girlfriend (a born and raised Rhode Islander, I've lived here 12 years) those are some phrases heard there, or use to be anyway. :P We live in Newport, by the way. Loving the snow, too. :P Del's isn't open yet and shockingly enough, Michelle Muscatello isn't pregnant. I guess I'm pretty indoctrinated around here by now.

Ah a CD-60AM. Mine is a 2011 and was a FSR then. I guess Fender brought it back. I love mine, I always get compliments on how it sounds. And plays great too! And happy NGD! Fender acoustics are extremely under appreciated. Great guitars for the money.

Here she is along side mini me. :D

Ineeto , I agree with you. I also think that Fender Acoustics are very under appreciated by the tone snobs. They are IMO, right up there with Martins & Taylors as some of the best sounding acoustics ever made. I now own 2 of them and love playing both of them.

Speaking of Fender acoustics, I loved the feel of the BG 29 acoustic bass they made over ten years ago or so. I never got one, though. Wish I could have, I remember it had really smooth action to it and warm tone. I haven't tried out any of the newer models, though.

Congratulations on your new guitar. Oh, by the way, you never have enough guitars.

Jeffo - Nice score! Do you know where it is made? Just curious ... Also, I may just be remembering things wrong (which is DEFINITELY a possibility), but weren't you a GC hater? No big deal, either way ... just curious ...
:)

I have a good friend of mine that swears by his Martin, he played mine and he said that it sounds better than his! And his guitar is no low end Martin, it's a solid top one from the early 80's. The model does escape me right now. He could not stop playing mine and I couldn't stop playing his lol!

Unfortunately, last year Fender closed down the old Ovation factory in CT where they made the mid-to-high end acoustic guitars, and had the acoustic custom shop. Now I believe all Fender acoustics are made by 3rd party overseas factories.

You're correct Arth. My CD60CE in Mahognay was made in China , while my new DG-60 was made in Indonesia. To me though it doesn't matter. The build quality on both of these are outstanding.

Yep mine is made in China too but it doesn't matter. I bought it brand new for $270 and it came with a hard case! I can't think of a better deal other than maybe some yamahas but those don't come with a hard case.
