This might be interesting for all bass and guitar players!

I did a before and after treatment test with the "CuteCube² Guitar - Play-in System for String Instruments" on TalkBass with my Fender "83 Jazz Bass that haven't been played for 10 years.

This device "plays in" new instruments or the ones you haven't used for a while.

All the test results are right in the 1st post:

- before treatment

- after 3 days of treatment

- after 7 days of treatment

- after 14 days of treatment

Let me know what you think :D

Sorry, I break my instruments in by playing them, absolutely no desire to have that done 'automatically'.

I see, playing music to your guitar breaks them in. Rubbish

I'd like a device that also does my laundry and fetches me a beer, too! :P

Kinda like playing music to your houseplants make them grow?!

I gotta agree with you - don't see how it could help. If you decide you want to play that guitar or bass that has been sitting in a case unplayed for a year or 2, why not just put it in the same room you are already playing in. After a day or 2 of listening to the other instruments get played I'm sure it would remember how to make music!

I expected it to be some kind of robotic strummer arm and was thinking it might have some kind of benefit in breaking in a new set of strings.

It was nice of George Forester Guitars (the company selling this device) to put your testimonial on their website. :)

I think it's a bit early for April 1st.
It sounds no more plausible than those "ionised" bracelets.

That being said, I don't see why something that vibrates the strings without contacting them, working on the same principle as an EBow couldn't do a better job of it. (If, indeed, there is a job that needs doing.)
