I play at beach with friends, so battery amps a must. Passport is promoted as a PA, right? So wonder if that means the mini can handle bass thumping as a PA would (know sound quality won't be stellar, but better than nothing). I have mini Mustang already (I play regular 6 strings), and have Passport mini on order. This question more for friend I'm teaching bass to... have put a car 6" woofer into a Laney battery amp, works fine enough, but just wondering. Maybe I have too much time on my hands..... thanks

Well, I once rigged a boombox I had back in the late 80's to be a portable bass amp and it actually worked as long as I EQ'd it a certain way and didn't crank it loud enough to distort the speakers heavily. So yes, I'd say with caution I don't see why you can't. You'd probably get at least acoustic guitar level volume with it, maybe even more so, since that's what I got, more or less.
