Thanks, Rollie. I'd love to have a little drummer boy in my arsenal. Maybe I'll end up doing an album like Suki Rae ;)

Thank you guys for all of your loving words. I understand your concerns arth, and I appreciate it. Your abrasiveness also reminds me of me a little bit.

Congratulations! This really came out of the blue, but since you and your girl are ready, willing, and able, I think it's fantastic. And no, no one is really ready for their first kid, and they don't come with operator's manuals, although Dr. Spock's book comes pretty close.

You will be completely blown away when you first lay eyes on him/her . . . you will UNDERSTAND.

I really can't wait for it. I'm already absolutely in love. I was in a Carter's just sobbing with joy.

Congratulations, this is a lifestyle change for sure, good luck. I got my girlfriend pregnant and was NOT prepared, nor did neither of us have a great paying job but she had benefits in hers. We married 6 months later, and 25 years this August we have a 24 year old and a 20 year old and I am still happy we did this. Yes it is not all great, there are ups and downs, but like everything else including playing your guitar ( I made this post music related ) you and your partner will need to work at it in order to make it last
Enjoy your new arrival as they become adults before you know it

I’m with the “Platitude Choir”. You should be very proud of yourself for taking responsibility. Many young people would opt out. Sure having a child isn’t always easy but you have the right attitude and that in my opinion is where it starts. A newborn is rough at first, but once you get past the ‘chicken wing’ leg phase and the little belly button raisin things falls off and they smile at you for the first time, it’s a life changing experience all over again and it gets much easier and (to me) more fun. I support 7 Children on a modest audio/video editing support wage. When you have a little person depending on you, you just make it work. Good luck to you. Looking forward to updates.

James,

Congrats, my friend. Where there's a will, there's a way. You can definitely make it work. And having family nearby to help is a huge help! Keep us posted and if you have any questions or need any advice, feel free to ask. As you can tell there is a ton of experience in this particular area on this board.

Thank you! Everyone around me says I'm gonna do a great job, but only time will tell.

I'm definitely up to it, and I'm 100% doing everything I can to make this child as good of a human being I can.

My first wasn't planned and I was working part-time for just a little more than minimum wage. 10 years later I was working full-time for twice the pay. Does that mean that I should have waited 10 more years to have kids? NO!

You do the best you can with what you have and supply the family with the most important(and free) thing - love. And go back to school or whatever to land a good job.
