First Buxom congrats I don't need to tell you it's a hard job to be a dad but it's the greatest thing in the world.

On arth1 you are a dick.

Congrats Buxom. May your first born be a masculin or feminin child or whatever :D

Your Don thanks you and appreciates your well wishes. The Don is a busy man.

Her mom is gonna be an excellent grandma I feel. Same with my mom and grandma. My great grandpa is gonna be awesome. He absolutely adores us.

I feel like I've seen my dad do enough messed up $@!&, and had him do enough messed up $@!& to me to where I won't do anything like that. I everyone tells me I'll do a good job. All I need to do is keep believing in myself and those around me.

On an unrelated note: I bought dis like 2 weeks ago. Traded my old one and paid it off over half, so I'm only spending $250 on a kit that was originally $863.

Yeah, I figured you'd like that, being a fan and all. That's what I'd do, at least. :P

So if it's a girl, it does nothing but give a scathing look back at you, and end up feeling guilty at the complete waste of perfectly good baking soda

Congratulations to you and your partner, Buxom! Having and more to the point, raising a child is a big responsibility, but an equally great source of joy and wonder. My wife and I have 2 boys and our life is so much more rewarding for having children (at least most of the time - they are teenagers!).
Good for you.
Ignore the nabob of negativity that is Arth1.
Best,
Alex

Spit in one hand, and believe in the other. See where you gather the most.
No, believing in yourself and those around you isn't worth sh*t. Doing is what matters. So do the right things, young guy! Show them you can be trusted with this responsibility!
And I'll clap louder for you than any of the platitude choir here.

James, good news. You have been here at the Lounge for a good while. From your participation the most acute musical sensibility shows through. Teach that to your new family member please. I always thought the world could use another you lol. :D

Believe me, arth, I'm doing everything I can.

If my mom can make it to VA from PA on no money, take apart and reassmble a houseload of furniture with nothing but a butter knife, work 3-4 jobs at any given time of year, and still make time to make sure I'm turning out as a semi-passable excuse for a decent human being, I think I can do it too.

The first step to doing anything in life is believing in yourself, the second is getting the ones you believe in the most to believe in you as well.
