Pretty cool little rig you got there! 8) I will say that is inspiring thing to do. The problem is I don't know how to solder, but then again you're never to old to learn anything.

Oh, man! That is awesome and so sharp looking! I've wanted to get into doing this for a long time. Congrats!

Do it!! There's nothing more satisfying than building your own gear!
If you're a beginner, start with a pedal and work your way up the food chain.

I wonder do they offer this type of thing for the large Bassman heads? I'd love to actually build my own Silverface Bassman 100.

I haven't seen anything like that offered in kit form but to be honest, the high-power Bassman heads can still be found on the secondary market at generally still-reasonable prices. I bought a clean 1980 Bassman 135 silverface about two years ago for five bills. I doubt that any kit (if one exists) would be much cheaper than that.

Agreed. I could easily scoop up another early 70's Bassman 100 for 5 bills. Though my interest in building my own would both be educational and as a point of personal satisfaction. As far as bass tone circuits go that is my ideal circuit for tone. I'd like to know how to build, repair, and maintain one.

I want to say thank you to everyone for the comments and complements!! I would like to add for those that are interested, the amp has a very heavy metal chassis, the tubes are mounted to it, only the caps and resistors are on a PC board. This amp should last 50 years, it is very simple and easy to maintain.

Oh, the guitar in the picture is my "Golden Child", don't tell my other guitars about the pictures, they get jealous

There was a fellow out in California who used to build amps like that, about 50 years ago.

I forget his name......

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Some say he made guitars too but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Thanks, but I was looking for a Silverface Bassman 100. The old 410 45watt Bassman isn't going to be of much use to me as a bassist outside of in home practice, and that's a VERY expensive amp to just have kick around the house.
