It's a MIM Standard Stratocaster.

I've been a Gibson guy all my life but I always liked the Fender sound also.

I like to do home recording for fun and I thought this song was just made for the Strat, indeed according to something I read the guitarist who recorded with Chris Isaak used a Strat. So, I thought I'd give it a try.....it's an instrumental version.

Thanks for listening!

That's a pretty nice arrangement of one of my favourite tunes.

Just curious, what gauge strings were you using for that? Are they the factory-installed .009 to .042 strings?

Welcome to the Forum Tommy. Congratulations, MIM Stratocaster's sound the sweetest IMHO. Would a photo be possible, we love photos. Cool version of a cool song, thanks for posting. Have fun here.

Thanks all for the positive comments.

The strings are the stock Fender "Bullets", .009-.042. That's same gauge I've been using on my other instruments and they felt good so I won't change.

Yes, I'll take some photos. Normally I take my shots outside but it's been in the single digits and we've had snow on the ground since.....forever it seems.

Nice 8) Dig the Tremolo action on the amp... Bet it feels good to have a Twang Bar... Gibo's are cool... BUT, nothing beats a Strat :D
Nothing against Gibson Guitars... a nice Lester is pretty darn kick $@! 8)

My first Fender was a Strat, too. (American Standard) I love it! Comfortable, and easy to play- and they sound great. Lots of options for sound variation, and that wammy bar is there if you really feel like going to town. I'm also glad Fender put a no load tone pot on the bridge pickup.

There's a reason so many people play them, and why Fender still makes em pretty much the same way.

Enjoy!!

Nice! My American Standard is the 3 color sunburst, and looks a lot like that. Pretty guitars for sure.

What are the amps it's leaning on?
