Thanks Marky, wasn't sure what to make of it. There's a little Pink Floyd in there too I think.

Great piece of work there, Ghost. A little dark like chocolate; but I loved the layering and variety where too much can get messy at times. I think it all worked here. Your mix is icing on the cake. 8) I liked it.

First of all, Mike man, fantastic. Hopefully I'll have the time to download that track and put a lead over it. I don't suppose you're working in FL Studio? If not, would you mind putting a link up to a less compressed version (wav preferred)? I totally understand if you want to keep it compressed when posting online though.

Nice work on yours ghost. There are many browser based file converters. Here's one to
convert any audio file to .wav

Just an FYI - I use Audacity to convert mp3 to wav. It's free and easy to use. Just import the mp3 and export it as a wav. Works great. 8) https://www.audacityteam.org/download/? ... 1821:10:01

I added some extra piano sounds to finish this older Latin Jazzy tune called "Carribean Cruise" I've had on
a back burner :

That was great, Mike. It may be called Caribbean Cruise (great title by the way) and it certainly works with that, but I can tell you that BC Ferries the largest ferry fleet in North America, and second largest fleet in the world, often has soloists, duets, and trios entertaining the locals and tourists. This would be perfect and welcomed on board. Really a nice composition, Mike.

Did they serve Shirley Temples with that Caribbean Cruise?

Yeah Audacity is my go-to for simple editing. Unfortunately converting from MP3 to WAV will not restore quality lost to the compression. What you end up with is a WAV file that sounds exactly like the MP3: compressed.

The biggest hit (to my ear) happens to the low end. If you take a file that was created uncompressed and convert it to MP3 you will absolutely hear the difference (despite being a "lossless" format).

I'll have to look into that more. As you probably know, I'm a noob to recording. :)

Here is one more backing track. Gives an idea what kind of sounds you can conjure up using software alone. I'm a total newb with this program, but I've done a lot of programming on drum machines. Pretty happy with this beat.

Also, you will recognize the melody in there. Here is a recording of "Big Ben" chiming. This same melody is used in many clocks. I'm guessing it's "public domain".

Here is my track, no vocals yet and it's 6 minutes. You'll have to use your imagination:

Cool ghost! Thanks Mark!

This was just a blues jam over a backing track :

Very cool, Mike. The beginning reminded me of "Stormy Monday" one of my favorite slow blues songs.

Here's another take that a friend from the UK did over my backer:
