This one I just finished. It's called New Age Nights and it has 14 total tracks that
I mixed down. I used my Korg Synth and Epiphone Hummingbird Pro acoustic.

Wonderful song, Mike. 8)

Thanks Mark and much appreciated. After hearing it again I'm thinking that it could
even be used as a backing track if anyone wanted to download it and play over it.

Go for it, Mark. I just heard a friend from Sacramento's take on it. I'll link it after he
uploads it.

I like how he did the nylon string intro and outro and at about 1:26 rocked it.

He uses a Fishman Triple Play. https://reverb.com/p/fishman-tripleplay ... d=22799949

Two Hundred Trumpets. Pretty quirky and cool. I once attempted to be the next Chet Baker. I never thought of recording trumpet as simple as my skill set before I gave up playing the scale when my pretty face got marred by cracked and bleeding lips. You never stop amazing me with the variety available in your musical soul, Mike. I know there’s a toy box full of surprises in there to choose from.
New Age Nights. A lot of thought and work went into that baby. Sorta cinematic. I had visions of a mystery in the Deep South. Great, Mike. I also liked the addition that MD put on it. My first guitar as a kid was nylon strung. I forgot how sweet it sounded and the mix here blends nicely with some killer electric addition to rock it. The detail behind the songs was appreciated. All in all. Nice! :D

I have a vague idea how the Fishman works. Could you do something similar using plugins in your DAW?

I downloaded you song, converted it to a wav file and imported it into Studio One. It's the only track on the song for now but, when I add a track, I can mix it and export it as an mp3. Does that sound like a good way of doing it?

Yes that would work fine, Mark.

The Triple Play is like a wireless Midi keyboard but you use your guitar to get the different
sounds (i.e. nylon stringer, hammond organ, flutes, sax, trumpets, etc)

Here's a good demo of it :

That is very interesting. I don't like using my MIDI keyboard much so this would work well for me. I've wanted something like the Progression 2 software but I didn't know anything like it existed. All-in-all it's very cool and on my wish list at Sweetwater. I'll check out Reverb too.

Thanks Mike! 8)

First of all, Mike man, fantastic. Hopefully I'll have the time to download that track and put a lead over it. I don't suppose you're working in FL Studio? If not, would you mind putting a link up to a less compressed version (wav preferred)? I totally understand if you want to keep it compressed when posting online though.

2: what happened to Mark Hahn?

3. Lastly, I've wanted to post something now that I've been working in FL Studio (aka "Fruity Loops"). What an addictive program, I just love it. I find it to be such a comfortable interface.

So here is a track - out of all the stuff I made, I just don't know what to do with this. It feels like an instrumental, but I don't think it wants a solo. Just atmosphere and chords. Feel free to download it and prove me wrong.

This track is a little out of place here. Basically I've been looking to work with a rapper. I just came off working with a Doo Wop group. To quote Billy Joel, "I go to extremes". I've been playing guitar since I was 12 but I've been listening to rap even longer. Growing up in New York in the 80's - I don't know, I might not want it in my DNA but it is.

With FL Studio, it's $100 to get in the door. You want to use a mic or plug in a guitar? That'll be another $100 kid. This is one of the first things I made once I bought the Producer Edition so I could plug in a guitar. Didn't know what I was doing. I've gotten better at it since. The amp used was a Fender Mustang III v1, via USB. No external interface needed.

Anyway, here is a little rap-influenced instrumental:

I can hear that "Place Spit Here 2" could be rap-influenced but I didn't think rap at all when I listened to it. I think there is plenty of room for a nice solo or two. Nice song, ghost. 8)
