Fender has a legacy that is rare in this world. It is of course, a big corporate, owned by private equity. None-the-less, its success as either an investment or family business is based on maintaining the legacy - something from which we all benefit.

So.............what improvements would you suggest to Fender in terms of Products?

This where we discuss things like:
- a new 6-string
- different fret-boards etc.

I feel Fender is doing a great deal in actively pushing the container to new levels...

As far as guitar design goes... they have the Roland Strat... they have also been exploring Midi technology with the personality card guitars... The Mustang modelling amps... I think they're doing a lot already that's right in line with current technological advancements in sound as well as digital platforms for those things to be accessible and affordable for folks to gain access to them.

Overall I feel they are doing a great job. I do hope they continue to offer the solid rosewood neck on a limited basis each year, maybe pick a different model each year, ie Tele, Jazzmaster etc. And for goodness sakes reintroduce the original Electric XII, even if only a limited basis each year.

Keep control knobs far away from the strings.
I don't know what Leo et al were thinking when they located the volume knob on the Strat. It's especially annoying when trying to palm-mute the thinner strings. Keep them back of the bridge which, say, the Jaguar almost does.
That's one of my favourite things about the Les Paul and the SG - all that business stays out of the way.

I agree with the positioning, but those who use their pinkie on the volume might disagree.

But two volume controls plus a three way pickup switch on an LP/SG is too much. Why not a master volume and a pan knob, avoiding one control and at the same time never getting the jarring volume change when switching pickups?
As for two tone knobs, that actually has some benefits that you can't do with a pedal. I have from time to time wished I could turn down the treble in just the bridge pickup on my teles. If not playing country, it can sound a bit harsh.

I would like to see some re-issues of the Classic Red Knob amps from the 1980's. A lot of those were really great sounding SS amps .

I would definitely appreciate the broader availability of colors on every available model version, unless its specifically a re-issue, artist series or Limited Edition run guitar.

10 for 15..........
Its kind of an interesting marketing concept.
I would like more model info now, even if not finalized.
I got more from the you tube video here than from the Fender site ad, maybe you should put this on that page.

Any price list would be great also so I know how much to save.
A poll idea, which is your favorite.
I'm really liking the long board, but they are all pretty special guitars.

I dunno but maybe the "empty" promos page could be used to get the word out about these fine offerings.

My favorite is the Princeton Chorus amp they had back then. I guess that was their answer to a Roland JC series. I remember they had those stocked in a music store I use to frequent back then and I loved the sound of it. I'm way more of a bassist than a guitarist, even worse a guitarist back then (pretty newb on bass, too :P ) but I didn't sound too horrendous through that amp. Especially, on a 12 string electric. It was a chime fest.

I'd like to see more colour matching options:
- head stocks
- pick guards (or no pick guards a la Jaco)
- fret boards.

This will help modernise the products without actually changing the products too much.

The Jim Root and Yuri guitars are good examples.

Tone control for bridge pickup.

Better acoustics

American Vintage Series 1951 Reissue Precision Bass. After 32 years. It's way past due. Also, more custom colors on the American Vintage Series Bass line. Like the guitarists get. Why not an AVS 58 Precision Bass in CAR, Surf Green, or Shell Pink?

Bring back the Mini Floyd locking bridge option and the 22-fret bass designs for the American Deluxe series, reinstate the abalone dots on the fretboards.
