Let's post some good ones. I'll start with Chet Atkins doing his version of "Malagueña."

There's a lot of good fingerpicking jazz too.

And blues too:

And when talking fingerpicking, whether you like his music or not, it'd be wrong not to mention Mike Oldfield:

Look at those fingernails - he is one of the few electric guitar players that do 5-finger (pimac) picking, thus the extra long pinkie nail.
Most people think of him only as the composer of Tubular Bells and a few pop songs, not realizing how incredibly good a guitar player he is.

Good stuff. Y'all are definitely bringing out some big guns.

Let me introduce you to someone who isn't known to much outside of New Orleans but was definitely a talented fingerpicker. Ladies and gentlemens, Mr. Snooks Eaglin.

Good Call !!

I saw Snooks perform with George Porter Jr. at the Rock n' Bowl in NOLA back in 2006 !

Terrific show and yes, Snooks truly deserves to be introduced here.

Here he is on something decidedly more Fender:

He didn't record very much and he died in '09 a month before I was going to see him a 2nd time at JazzFest !

cheers!

Yep, saw him at the The Rock N Bowl myself, round about 2007. Great show. Here's my favorite video of him playing with George Porter Jr. and Kenneth Blevins on drums. That Squire Tele is up front in the mix and you just can't beat the sound he's getting out of it.

The finger picker icon that changed the art of guitar playing to modern art, influenced guitarists young and old with his emotive style of playing, once you hear him you remember his sound always. His one finger style is sweeter than guitar players I've seen that can pick with all ten. Enjoy:
Wes Montgomery - Round Midnight

Agreed.
Doesn't get much smoother than that!

I use fingers on my Strat and "claws" on acoustic so I appreciate it.
Some great pickers on this thread. Good job!
