Yeah, except for the used market, probably. There are some Japanese companies like Bacchus, which has made Fender clones for years, still around. Of course, they don't have the Fender logo on them, although it wouldn't shock me if they were made in the same factory.

With that you do never know. Good point.

I really do like the sound from the Olympic White Jazz, a lot better than the sound from the Fretless I had. If I did get another Fretless, it would be not for sometime, if at all.

The fretless can be a niche thing, I think. It's cool on some things, but not necessarily on everything. I guess it just depends on the sound you're looking for.

On the fretless I sold, it wasn't the sound of it being a Fretless jazz, as much as just the overall sound that the Am. Std. Jazz had over the Fretless.

If I didn't compare the two, the Fretless would have been fine.

I acquired this Am. Std. Fretless Jazz. It's pretty good.

Welcome back to the fretless. I suspect you got a good deal with this one?

Hey Paul. I did ok on it. There's the instant rebate on most Am. Std.'s going on now. This one was part of the $200. off. The QC on it is very good. You know I have a tough time staying away from Am. Std. Jazzes anyway. ImageImage

That's a good deal. 8) Yeah, I know what you mean. most of the time, all I can do is GAS over them instead of actually being able to buy them. :P

I do like playing this Fretless. It plays, and sounds right on. It makes it all worth while doing the monetary payout for it.
