I use a TC Polytune and by far the best tuner I have ever used. True bypass, and very easy on batteries. Wouldn't have any other tuner on my board.

T2

Replaced my TU-2 with a TU-3.

I use the TC Polytune 2 and I love it to pieces.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Almost went from the TU-2 to the original Polytune. Loved the idea behind it, but the initial user reviews scared me off. I guess they got it right with the Polytune 2.

The only real differences between the original and #2 are, to my knowledge, that the newer one has a brighter display that auto-adjusts, and the strobe tuning has gone from 0.5 cents accuracy to 0.1 cents -- as your tuning will vary more than 0.5 cents just by how you tilt the guitar a few degrees, the latter isn't too useful.

I haven't seen any bad reviews. The only real caveat I can think of, is that it (the mini model at least) doesn't let you change the pitch, so you cannot use it for, say, orchestral tuning at 442 or 443 Hz, nor for tuning against another instrument that provides a baseline A. But that's the case for my old tuner too.

I use my friend's POD which has a tap/tuner switch. At home I use a TU12.

Boss TU-2, which I will use until it dies, and then probably replace it with a TU-3.

I use a lot of alternate/open tunings--does anyone know of the "strum all six strings and find the one out of tune" function on the TU-3 works with alternate tunings?

Korg Pitchback Polytune for me :) A bit pricey but hasn't let me down, it's fast, VERY accurate and has a true-bypass.

a plain ol' Korg Pitchblack (not polytune) does it for me. Simple, reliable, fast and responsive, and the biggest thing of all for me - nice and bright for outdoor day gigs. Equally readable in a dimly lit bar.
