If you're just looking to buy a cable, you'd be better off trying somewhere local rather than buying from an online dealer. As far as buying experiences, I've never had problems buying online from Musician's Friend, Music 123 or Guitar Center. Sweetwater beats them all, IMHO.
The sales rep I deal with was calling about every month or so, leaving messages about whether or not I wanted to continue receiving their catalog. I didn't feel like I was being harassed or anything. After his latest message, I had an idea. I've been GASsing for a B-DEC for a while, but was waiting for a price break of some kind from the other dealers (% off promo deals and stuff) which never materialized. I called the guy at Sweetwater and told him that yes, I wanted to keep the catalogs coming, and asked him if he could get me a better price than the one online. He gave me a substantial price break with free shipping (I probably shouldn't mention the exact amounts in this forum). That sounded good to me and made the purchase.
The best part is, I ordered the amp on Tuesday afternoon about 3:00 p.m. and the amp arrived via FedEx on WEDNESDAY afternoon! Granted, Sweetwater is in Fort Wayne IN, and I live in southern WI, but that short turn around time was a complete surprise!
I would recommend calling the dealer (MF, GC or whomever) and trying to negotiate a better deal before purchasing. Who knows, it may also work with those other stores as well.

I think the next thing on my wish list will be purchased from Sweetwater, after a phone call of course. I just wanted to share that with you folks, hopefully it's not too far off topic!

I went by the sweetwater warehouse store in FortWayne Indiana a few weeks ago and it looks awesome.
unfortunately it was a sunday and they were closed, its only about three hours from me, I do plan to go visit some time.
as far as Customer service, they are on top of the game for sure.

I've used the following sites last year:

samash.com - my Squier '51 and gigbag
guitartrader.com - a Squier Strat and gigbag
musiciansfreiend.com - amp, cables, picks, straps, mic, drum pad, keyboard and audio interface, pedals
sweetwater.com - pedals, cables, cases, audio gear, software
eyelandenterprises.com - custom guitar strap

I had no issues with any of them on ordering or shipping. All gear arrived ontime and in great condition.

Maybe I was just lucky, but I don't think so. Sweetwater has really great customer service - they called about one of my orders to ensure that I had ordered the right model and check if I had the necessary cables for it (which I already had on hand).

I also bought gear at two local stores here in Vermont - no issues with them - just a lack of Squier gear that I wanted to choose from.

I'm going to an annual "yard sale" this weekend at another music store here in Vermont - it should be interesting to see what I can score

The best place I have found on the internet when I need to buy a few accessories, or not enough to get free shipping from one of the biggies, is this place called Suncreekmusic.com The prices are very good, and they base shipping on the actual weight of the items. This is the perfect place if you need just need a few accessories.

My last aquisition was from www.musiciansbuy.com in May; my Strat 12; I bought it and a case (the tooled vinyl one) for a killer price; best on line price in the US so far as I could tell. Their shipping at the time was anything over 399.00 got shipped free.
Most sites say 99.00 or 100.00 or any guiat/amp over 100.00.
I buy my strings online; I always order 5 or more sets; I use the same on my electrics and I get the same acoustic strings for the acoustics so it's easier for me. Never bought picks, cables, etc on line though I suppose I could.
So accessories are usu. puchased locally; larger stuff on line, but my next aqusition will prob be local; Ted Brown Music has treated me pretty well even though I put them through some hops over a multi stand for my guitars and didn''t keep the merchandise.
I have never had a bad experiance with any online outfit; a mail (before the net) order place called Music Emporium wooled me around for a while but I got my stuff..
