Even though all of the electic guitars in my family are Fenders, I'm a reader of a few other builders forums. A couple of the other forums have a "pics from the bench" type picture thread. They'll have interesting pics taken from the workbench at different stages of the build. Like bodies freshly carved or finished. The same with necks. Nice pics of finished guitars before they ship. Usually they post on a certain day of the week.
I'd like to see a factory photo thread started here on the Fender forum. Maybe one running thread for both production guitars and custom shop builds. Or maybe having the Stratocaster, Telecaster and the Custom Shop areas of the forum have they're own picture thread.
What do you say guys? Is this something that others would like to see?
The only downside I can see is all of the GAS it'd cause.

What a great idea. Might even generate some more sales if the Custom Shop joins in!

Carvin does that. One of their employees walks through the shop in the afternoon and takes pictures at various stages of the build process. He then posts them on their Facebook page. Usually about 15 pictures a day. If you have a guitar on order and you watch everyday, you can usually see it appear once or twice. If it's a really interesting build it might get more coverage. This works well for Carvin since the majority of the guitars are built to order, so it generates a lot of warm and fuzzy connections between the customers and the company.
Here's a picture of my last Carvin build that they posted on their Facebook page. I was watching everyday for 8 weeks hoping to get a glimpse of it, they posted two pictures during that time. It was pretty cool seeing it just after it had the finish applied to it.

Here's the finished guitar:

I'm not a Facebooker but I'm willing to bet Fender posts pics on their Facebook. They could have ther tour guide take a few pics a week while doing his thing.
